I'm I the only one that remembers the many, many pages on FiberglassRV about OKRA? And after the hack, we lost tons of great posts!

Okra! When in the current movie "Interstellar" I heard the line "there goes the last crop of okra... ever" I half-expected a round of applause from the theater audience. Okra, ugh.

Au Contraire, my Florida friend. Fried Okra, breaded with corn meal? YUM!

Well... they do fry it down here; that's how Mom made it when I was a kid. But up north they don't. Ugh. Almost as bad as the dreaded collard greens. Eeww.

Lutefisk, poutine, okra, collard greens. Can we talk about something appetizing?
How about Southern Fried Chicken? I've never forgotten the meal we had in a church basement on a road trip to San Antonio when I was about 11 years old.

Yeah, Chicken's kind of an art down here Glenn, that's true. I can never get it right though like the wife can.

Nope. But we visited the Alamo, and even as a small for his age 11-year-old, I was surprised how small it is.

I fought with Davey Crockett. Had a racoon cap and everything.
Davey, Davey Crockett, King of the wild frontier.

Well, you were in the chapel, and the chapel is small. It's pretty much all that's left of the Alamo, and since it has that iconic Spanish Mission roofline, people equate the Alamo with the chapel. During the battle it was quite large, and the chapel was just a small part of it. One of the reasons it fell, besides the fact that it was defended by about 300 men against 9000, was that they were spread pretty thin trying to cover all the walls.

My favorite quote of his, after he was defeated in his reelection bid for Congress:
"Since you have chosen to elect a man with a timber toe to succeed me, you may all go to hell and I will go to Texas."

Excellent stuff.
Now explain Coor's beer to me. What the heck is a banquet beer? Something you drink with rubber chicken in a vast hotel ballroom? Ads are running dozens of times a day, with no explanation.
I know Texas isn't responsible.

You're right, we have no knowledge of that. Its a Colorado thing, so I'll leave it to Coloradans to explain.
I did find this however. Still won't get me to drink it. Shiner Bock, now that's a beer.

Thanks.
That's a lot of stuff that I wish I didn't know.
I feel I've been sucked in by a marketing team, and I have been.
Still won't pass my lips.

Campers All
Having been both poor and thirsty more than once in my life I adopted a philosophy on beer that serves me well to this day. I only drink two kinds of beer. Cold and Free. And I only drink two, The first one and the last one. Tipped a few with my Bro yesterday, Blue Moon, Urban 312', Shock Top Belgian, and finished the day with a Fat Tire, which is way better than a flat tire. I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

When I went to college in Iowa back in the 60's we had to drive to Illinois to get beer on sundays and then drink it out in the cornfields to escape detection. Those were the days......

I'm not sure Hamm's beer sells anywhere other than Washington State. That's the only place I've seen it. Too bad. I like the lighter tasting beers...like Coors.

I always though Hamms, which was brewed in Maryland a long time ago and the Chesapeake Bay was the land of sky blue water??
