TPMS with internal sensors?

Does anyone use a tire pressure monitoring system that features a signal booster and pressure sensors that mount inside the tires?

I have, or had, a Fobo system that had valve stem sensors. It was designed for passenger cars and didn't work well on the Escape, as its signal strength wasn't good enough to reach my TV. It had no booster. I basically stopped using it.

One day I noticed that there were no sensors on the trailer tires. There were valve caps instead. I thought I had removed the Fobo sensors but they weren't in the box they came in, which is where I would have put them. So now I'm a bit concerned that someone would steal valve cap sensors. I can't quite believe someone would do this and put valve caps on, though, so I really don't know what happened.

Yes they will. The thought process being you wouldn’t notice right away if you weren’t using the system every day. I have seen rear view mirrors, tire covers, windshield wiper blades and recently in our area Catalytic converters stolen. Our TPMS system has the ability to support 18 wheels. We have 5 sensors. I could add three more and cover the tow vehicle and the trailer. Now how could I get those? And that’s the way it goes. It’s a jungle out there!

I have a Dill system from Tire Rack. Sensors are internal and sense pressure and temperature. It has a cable connected antenna that has a magnetic mount that I have stuck to the Silverado hitch in the back. The display is old style lcd and a bit hard to read in the sun. Sensors are about 5 years old and still going strong. Make sure of correct valve stem size since they list more than one.
