I agree with the go higher now while you're building folks but also understand that sometimes one can't. The 10' door should work fine but make sure it opens an actual 10'. Our neighbor has a 10' door that only opens 9'9" as the door does not roll up enough to clear the framed opening.

Had that happen on a rollup door - discovered if I shoved the door up higher I could get an empty bleach bottle (capped) to jam between the bottom of the door and the framing to keep it up full height. I added a roof vent to my van without checking first...............

great call with the dimensions. Doesn't make sense to pay for 8' framing or play and then cut it...
