Turn off Backup alarm, while towing

When I am backing up my trailer, the alarm is so loud I can't her anyone directing me. Can it be turned off, I didn't find anything in the manual.

I'm assuming the alarm is on your tow vehicle unless Escape started adding them to their trailers; my 2017 doesn't have one. For the tow vehicle, try to find an on line forum specific to yours. Someone may have found the solution.

what is the tow vehicle? I know my new ford it can be shut off. Also once the trailer is plugged into the truck it will automatically shut off the alarm.

If still towing with a Honda Ridgeline as indicated in your profile, this forum / thread may be of interest (I'm a former Ridgeline Owner )

This Ridgeline Owners Club forum thread touches on parking sensor alarms when towing. I suspect your issue is the 'obstacle proximity alarm' related to the rear parking sensors when the trailer is hitched, and yes that can be defeated with a switch on the dashboard. IIRC that system defaults to "On" every startup so you may need to disable it each time you restart the vehicle while towing.

Hope that helps, good luck!
