Smile Two Weeks and Six DayS!

Got an email from Meagan this morning telling me the last wire transfer had been received and an email tonight from Dezeray with pictures!!! Spent a good part of the day loading and reloading the truck trying to get everything in for the trip to Chilliwack.

I just went through that process, good luck on getting everything in the vehicle. I came very close to getting a cap, but eliminated some items. As it was, we had entirely too many clothes and tools and there not needed, but taken just in case.

I do have a BAKflip hard side folding tonneau so I'm able to cram a bunch of stuff into that tiny space, short/short bed. I've got the crew cab but I'm trying to leave as much space as possible in the back seat area so that one of us can crash if he so choses. I'm taking only T shirt and shorts. Now tools, yes I'm coming loaded for bear! Getting the pictures just turned up the excitement meter.

Would you mind posting a list of things that are going along for the ride? I've wondered what the process is for hauling things both ways across the border and am leaning toward less-is-more should a new purchase end up in the cards.

In the picture is worth a thousand words category: (Not in the picture Yamaha YG2800i generator, 5 gallon gas tank, Andersen Ultimate Hitch, tent, personal gear and my brother's guitar) Oh, and two folding chairs. No, the bear isn't going. Not enough room. Also, one reason for all this stuff, we're going to be on the road for about three weeks after pickup. Will be doing some mods to trailer during this period in addition to fixing those things that might go wrong that fit in our skill level.

I'll bet that was an epic trip. Probably used every inch of space. BYW congrats on the TA. I'm sure the excitement is building up.

When I picked up my 21 in 2017, I wasn't planning to return home for 8 months, so I packed lots of stuff. I towed a Uhaul, left it at the Sumas Uhaul dealer across the street from Bob's Burgers (where your trailer will be delivered) overnight when I went to Canada for my orientation.

Uhaul did charge me a storage fee for parking the trailer, but it was worth it not to have to haul it across the border.

I think I've got most of the stuff we need loaded. My brother has the tent for the trip and except for the 5 gallon water can, the back seat area is empty. I just wished my brother played the harmonica instead of a guitar.

Thanks. While ours will be completed June 26, due to other commitments our orientation is set for July 31.

Where is your hitch?
Are you having your hitch installed in Chilliwack?
Where will you keep your things while that is being done?

Ronn if you look just below the blue sleeping bag you can see part or the Andersen base. I moved it forward and to the side to give a better footprint for loading. I've got one of my torque wrenches in the gray tool box so I can install the Hitch base and receiver along with retorquing the aluminum wheels.

I did see that, but it looked out of place, I now understand (mine is rail mounted so the part of the base that's visible is different). You are doing great space wise, we aren't doing as well. I have both the truck bed and the backseat of the crew cab stuffed full. We leave next Tues the 11th and pickup on Friday the 14th.

If I was traveling with my wife I would have to do what Jon did and rent a UHAUL trailer.
