U-shaped dinette info needed.

Can anybody tell me the dimensions of the "U" in the standard u-shaped dinette in an Escape 21? I'm exploring options in table shape, size and mounting hardware for our 2016 Escape 21 but the only conclusion I've reached so far is that I'm hooped without a reasonably accurate dimension set from which to work.

What dimensions do you want? ETI's web site specs the dinette at 48" X 86".

The dimensions of interest are the breadth and depth of the floor space within the "U". In other words, the overall size of the standard table top used to fill the "U" when making up the bed.

The table (and floorspace below) is not a rectangle, but an Isosceles Trapezoid.

It is a convex quadrilateral that widens towards the front of the trailer.

Thank you. I accept your Isosceles Trapezoid without reservation. I would feel even more kindly towards it if it came with dimensions, if such is conveniently possible.

From my 5.0TA, I'm told they are the same as the 21's.

Think Isosceles Trapezoid with the 2 front corners cut at 45 degrees 5" from the front. All the corners (6) are rounded. When in the lowered (bed) position, there is about .125" play, side to side. Don't know if the table tops are custom fit for each trailer or if they are all exactly the same.

Depth front to back, 29.25"
Width at the back, 34.5"
Max width, 5" from the front, 35"
Front width, 25"

After 2 months on the road the table wobble drove me nuts. I just replaced the table legs with the Springfield folks have been using. Would suggest you consider the same at build time, depending on what your table plans are.

Thanks, Bob, that's what I need. My plans include a Springfield style pedestal. Arrigoni Design makes a similar product. Does your Springfield lock at bedrail height? Their literature seems to indicate lockability at only 3 preset heights.

The Springfield pedestal is adjustable to any height within its range -- not just three pre-sets. You just push it down until it's where you want it, then close the two locking levers. Pix here.

The only thing I ran into was using the default top and slide setup was the table at max height was an inch or so lower then the original legs made it. Added a piece of 3/4" ply to raise it back up.

Thanks! I perused the info on your blog and was impressed. Beautiful job!

Would it be presumptuous of me to ask the narrow dimension of your table top? By your picture, with the table rotated 90 degrees, that's exactly the effect I wanted.

That narrow dimension is 17.5 inches. Works well for us!

Thanks, Bob. I was wondering about the overall height with the slide mechanism included. Good to know the solution is readily at hand.

We are going to do it exactly the way they did it in
Toto, we went for a visit and loved the set-up. Escape will make the table to your dimensions and then add filler piece so can be made into bed.

Excellent! Glad to hear that. Sounds like the Toto configuration has established a new standard layout. Thanks to Reace and his team at Escape and Toto's great design.

Those of you switching to these types of pedestals, how do you fill/ cover the holes in the vinyl flooring? Or does the large round pedestal type cover all the holes from the original two pole type?

Can't remember who it was but one member reported that the base flange of the Springfield covered all but one of the holes after he filled them with an appropriate coloured silicone type material to seal them.

DrPaddle (Doug) tells me he used
Roberts Universal Flooring, Counter, Cabinet and Furniture Repair Kit-Use with Wood, Laminate or Vinyl-10-33 - The Home Depot
to fill the one hole the new leg did not cover. I've got 3 holes to fill and will use the same product.

Where did you purchase the pedestal - they appear to be fairly expensive...
Thanks,
