Warranties

Do we need to register any warranties for the appliances and other stuff in our trailer?

Yes, in the packet of paperwork which included all the user manuals for all the appliances, you'll find the cards you need to fill out and send in. The cards are usually the last page of each manual. It takes a while to fill them out!

I don't think I have ever filled them out, but do keep the receipt for proof and date of purchase. Has worked fine when I needed a warranty claim.

It's best to fill them in and post them. Any recalls will go directly to you.
I didn't fill in the registration on my Olympus camera and only found out the CCD had been recalled and would be replaced free, when I took it in for another issue.

In most US states it is illegal to require a warranty form be sent it to validate the warranty. But for the appliances, etc in our Escapes it is probably a good idea because if there is a recall on something then they should notify you. Reminds me, I aught to get this done!

I just figured that those who filled them in and sent them will receive a recall notice and post it here so we all know about it.

Donna, this is why I am writing. There is only one manual that has a card and that is the Dometic Refrigerator manual.... and I just noticed that I was suppose to fill it out and mail it in 10 days after I got it.

I called Tammy and she said that we are supposed to look up each one online and do it,!?!??!

Oh my, see how things change. When I picked up Ten Forward, I got a packet of stuff.. a whole "binder" full. Perhaps the manufacturers of appliances, etc. are no longer provided hard copies...

I did get a large envelope of Manuals but only one had a card to mail in and one other had an email address to go online to register. Beside the refrigerator it is hard to find the model number of many of the appliances. Many of the manuals list several model numbers. I have to admit that when we bought our Casita they said that they had already registered every thing for us. How nice was that! Anyways, I guess we can always show the date we bought our Escapes and that should do.
