Re: Was Santa good to you??? I gotta....

Every thing I got had something to do with the Escape.

Got a Minn Kota 30 electric motor for the canoe. Got Easy-Hitch ( a couple of magnetic poles with LED lights ). One pole attaches to the hitch and the other to the ball. I might re-gift it since I have my mirror apparatus that seems to work quite well. Got "Trailer Trash" fridge magnets ( use your imagination ). Got a goose down duvet for the double bed in Toad. Got a travel Scrabble game and a copy of the Trailer Park Boys Xmas video.

Problem is, we're still buried in snow, so I can't play with any of my new toys.

The best gift of all! We’re so very glad you’re here with us. (I bet you are too )

P.S. Jolly good show on being the first to welcome a new board member today. I saw your note about it on Jim Norman’s thread and appreciate your trying to carry on for him. Well done, sir!

What year and model is the MX5.

Yup, men still like their toys. Picked up my Xmas present today, an electric fat bike and it will take a place beside my electric mountain bike and electric folding bike. However well I patronize the lower end of electric power it'll be a long time, if ever, before I have an electric truck.

WooHoo, congrats! Please post a pic (or at least tell us the color)? I enjoyed a 2001 Miata SE (British racing green with tan top and interior) for many years.

So happy to have you here, David, you're a gift to all who are fortunate to know you!

In addition to David's continuing friendship Santa '23 left me this alternative to the lump of coal

Hi: Ron in BC... Here she is a Snowflake Pearl 2020 MX5 RF. GT. Black rooftop w/ red leather int. It won't tow my 5.0TA but it does other things really well. She's tucked in for the winter and we just got snow late today. Be a frosty Friday in 'ell before I ask for an electric car too. Alf

Great news for you David!

I also had a good year. After suffering a widowmaker heart attack and cardiac arrest, and nearly dying in October 2022, last year was a year of recovery for me. In April 2023 I had recovered sufficiently to run the 42.2km Boston Marathon and I went on to run Jasper's (46km) Skyline Trail in July, the 50km long Rivers Edge Ultra in September, and the 50km Grizzly Ultra in October. Finishing the Grizzly Ultra was exceptionally satisfying as that was the race that I had been running in October 2022 when I had my heart attack and cardiac arrest. I finished off 2023 with another marathon run on October 31.

As an extra bonus from my employer in late 2007 I was gifted a 2008 MX5. Still have it. 15 years later it only has 65,000 km. Only drive it during the summer. Recently did a trip from Vancouver to San Francisco and back, camping in my little one man tent. The guy is an absolute blast to drive
