Some of you erect weather stations when camped and stow them when traveling. How do you protect the anemometer cups and keep them from breaking while the station is stowed? Thx.

I was kicking this around, what kind of station do you have?
I don't have one yet for the Escape. I was thinking about stopping at a Costco to see if they have one in the store. They have them on their website from time to time.

I am a human weather station. I walk outside and my body evaluates the wind speed, wind direction, temperature, wind chill, precipitation volume and type, and relative humidity. My brain makes a rapid evaluation and I dress or undress accordingly. No special storage requirements for this highly tuned instrument.
Weather stations do look interesting. I hope you come up with a good storage method.

I have an Acurite 06005RX which I don't recommend - the wind speed update is too slow to be useful. I keep it in a plastic tub by itself when traveling, and it hasn't broken yet.
At home I have a Davis Vantage Vue which I love, but since the base station is designed for 120V AC, it isn't all that practical for my style of traveling. It does have battery backup but is not designed to run on the back up batteries alone.
