On Friday I had my Fastway E2 WDH set up for my truck / Escape . Today I managed to lose the two L pins that hold the trunnion bars in place . Back to square one until the replacement parts show up .
Glenn ; hope your new tow vehicle works well . Now you can step up to that new Escape 19 you’ve talked about .

My L's used to get bent after a year or 2. I was always losing the various locking pins.

Hope you ordered the version with the built in clips rather than dealing with the pins:

hah. we evaced WITH our trailer, and lived in it for 10 days, visiting 3 different places. we did go back the next day and got my wife's car to park somewhere safe, she loves her 1994 Mercedes 320TE wagon (that year they called them E320 but I prefer the classic designation which would have been 320TE, where the 320 is the 3.2L engine, the T is for Touring aka wagon, and the E is for the E class midsized benz).

Glenn,
Enjoyed seeing the pic of you guys with the new Highlander with the Escape in the background.
Since we won’t have gatherings for the foreseeable future, maybe you’ve started a trend of all of us posing with our trailers.
Hopefully others will jump in, at least with new trailers, tow vehicles, or a scene where you keep your Escape.

I added sides to my shelter so the fridge didn't have to work so hard to keep the beer cold......................

These days I haven’t had too much time to work on the 21. But remembering a thread from a while back I thought I ought to check on the comment about water perched in the back bumper frame that holds the spare tire. There are two bolts that hold the spare tire holder on. One is 5/16 by 4” and it goes through the bumper, top to bottom. The other is 5/16 by 1” and goes through a brace welded onto the bumper and part of the tire holder.
As soon as I cracked the nut on the one through the bumper it began to drip. I got an old towel and a shop towel. Once drained I removed the spare tire holder. The bolts were ok but the one through was pretty rusty. I replaced them with grade 8 5/16 bolts. Cost for nuts, bolts and washers was $.81.
Then I drilled two 5/16 holes out in the bumper tips from the bottom. Must have been a regular coffee cup of rusty muddy water drained out. There was black mud in both bumper tips. Used the Milwaukee 18 volt cordless. You can see the “mud” on the 5/16 bit.
Here are some pics

Kernel Kutter
The Milwaukee still had some charge left after taking the kernels off the sweet corn cobs that made 56 pints of frozen corn. The Kernel Kutter, the big 60,000 btu burner the stock pot and my girlfriend from high school made short work of it. After the derecho I went down and picked the downed corn. Told Rita I had it all. She went down to the patch and a little while later came up with 35 ears. What can I say, I’m a concept man, details escape me.

Painted my replacement stove vent outside plastic prior to putting it on. My 2014 version was very yellowed, and the polymer I use (instead of wax) couldn't be stripped off so it didn't take paint well. Install this weekend. Also ordered new stainless steel lug nuts to replace the rusty chrome ones ETI installed.

I've done some mods where I had to work up a sweat to get them done but this wasn't one of them.
We wanted a clock in the trailer that we could always see, even from the bed. So we bought this little clock. Kind of a funny gimmick. Turn it upside down and it becomes a thermometer. Might be handy sometime.
Anyway I popped it into the gadget holder on the table and much to my surprise the "window" was perfect for viewing the clock. Sometimes you get lucky.
I know, I know, there are some folks that have to cover up led lights at night because they can't sleep with them but we're not bothered by led's etc.

In 2013 Escape installed a 90Watt solar panel glued to the centre of the roof of our 19. Two years later restraining cables were installed by Escape to prevent the panel from flying off when the glue failed. The glue has now failed and one of the restraining cables has severed.Today I replaced the broken cable with a piece of half inch wide 316 stainless banding. Tried to get Escape to install a new panel at the back but no go. It seems the traditional version of Escape will not accommodate the panels they use.

Tow ( Highlander XLE ) had Prodigy P2 and 7-pin wiring installed. I had asked for a P3, but the only one they had was faulty so I went with P2, which is what I've had in the RAV4 for 12 years. Bonus is that it cost a bit less and I don't have to read another manual.

my 2014 classic escape 21 has a flat rigid panel mounted on standoffs from the factory, this was the 160 watt panel.

Solar
We had solar and dual 6V batteries installed by Escape in Chilliwack on our 2013 Escape 21 in August of 2017. It’s standoff mounted, nicely sealed and is a 170 watt panel. I keep the trailer plugged in at home. Three years and doing fine at this time.
I had a 12 volt battery acing as if it would not hold a charge . I took it to interstate as it was an interstate battery and asked for a load test. The kid on the counter said the manager did those and he would have him do it. I went back the next day and the battery was setting exactly where I had left it with my name and number on a piece of loose paper that hadn’t moved. But the manager said he’d load tested it and it was not good. I did not believe he had tested it. I asked what the test cost and the kid on the counter said it was free. I thanked him and walked out with my bad battery. My problem turned out to be a worn out battery charger. The battery went another 2 years before it would no longer take a charge. I have nothing against Interstate batteries but I don’t buy from the Interstate store. I had a premium Delco in my 2012 Highlander conk out in less than a year. Dead cell. Full replacement no cost. No further problems

Will I'll be d____! I've been putting up corn for over 60 years (38 with my better half) and I thought I had seen it all. And hear you go showing off a power corn cutter!! I would love to see a video of that setup in operation! Still using my Mom's wooden corn cutter and creamer that's older than me. May be time to retire it and go with the Iowa Dave setup.
Hopefully your power is back on and the worst effects of the derecho are behind Iowa. I know that the farmers will be dealing with the effects for years.
Keep posting please, I usually learn something or get a good laugh and often both!
