Would be nice to have one to play with. In looking at the 2 pics John provided with a little tinkering one could re-engineer it so it could fold up easily for storage. Being a retired maintenance supervisor I love to tinker with things n adapt them to what’s in needed lol

I got it at the local marine store, they had a good selection, well made. The RV and online places had poor selection and mostly plastic. The handle is 24" long, oval in section and stainless steel, Victory brand. The mounts on each end are removable which allowed me to file each end of the handle to match the curve of the side of the trailer. I attached the top where the old handle was and just filled the lower holes with Proflex for now.
I did use SS screws, but I was able to get plywood backing in the wall so the screws could get a bit.
If I was not able to get the backing in, I would of attached it like ETI did, large pop rivets. The old handle has 4 rivets and the new handle has 6, so larger surface area, so I think it would of held on fine.

Last weekend I serviced the wheel bearings on my 19'. Last night I removed the wheels on my 15B. This morning I towed the 19' into the tire shop for a set of 4 new shoes. Had them re-shoe the 15B wheels at the same time. Tonight when I get home from work I will reinstall the wheels with new tires back onto the 15B and park the 19' back in its spot beside the house. A bit of washing and cleanup and the 19' should be ready for its first trip of the year to Jasper NP in two weeks.

Added; Propane monitoring system, tire pressure monitor system, Bluetooth level system, a new usb charger next to the wfco, and a custom designed under bed storage system with milk crates on a tray running over cheap bearings . I had my local machine shop make some rails for the system. New tires and bearing service, about ready to replace the propane pigtails as one is cracked. Also added a sniffer to the kit, a magnet laser that points down from the coupler to help locate the ball under the hitch as my backup camera is subpar. It’s been a busy month. Leaving j*ne 2 to play music for 4 days in NC.

We just picked a used 15 b up last week and have been busy every day getting to know it and doing minor things. Replaced gray water handle. Checked out all appliances, Installed brake regulator in truck.
It came with a hitch with sway bars. Trying to figure that out right now. Fellow we bought it from was running a low van to tow it. Not enough adjustment up on the hitch for my rig.

Simple mod: I took the cabinet door off the driver side wheel well cabinet, put a plastic shoe box in, and created a place for the dogs’ water that I’d have to work really hard to trip over. Not sure the angle would work well for bigger dogs but it is great for a corgi.

If your weight distributing hitch is the standard one sold by Escape, perhaps you can “turn the tower over to get more height. This is a simple and often used adjustment. A couple pictures would indicate that possibility.

When we got the 2010 Escape 19 the previous owner was towing with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It was sprung a little heavier than our 2012 Highlander. The jeep and escape Towed level on the highest low setting. We turned the tower over and the Highlander towed at the lowest high setting. So about an inch and a half difference. Snug those bolts up tight if you change it. You might need a cheater. I think I Torqued them once home at 150 but can’t remember for sure now. I know that when I sold the 19 the new owner had me move it one notch higher. He had a Highlander too.

When you see a shiny bright 2020 Escape in a campground you realize how overdue the trailer is for a full wax job. Broke it up but spent quite a few hours over a couple days. Wow that was a lot of work but it does look fantastic. Used a Snap-On variable speed rotary polisher at about 1800 RPM, 3M Marine Restorer / Wax and a 7” wool pad. Had light oxidation so the restorer helped bring it back like new. They did a really nice job on the gel coat when this was manufactured back in 2009.

I just paid the local 'best' marine/fiberglass detailer to go over my E21... it was filthy after being parked under oak trees all winter, he had it completely clean in the first 90 minutes, then compounded it with his buffer and 2 grades of polish, then did a polymer sealant on the whole thing, total job took 8 hours and he was NOT goofing at any point (I left him alone in the driveway but he was in my security cameras the whole time, muahahahah). came out great. this cost me $500 and IMHO was totally worth it.




i wanted him to do our new car with a ceramic coat before my wife gets home next week, but he's booked until August, ah well. I did a quick spray and wash with a fine spray nozzle on the garden hose, and a wash mitt (but no soap), then went over the car with a microfiber cloth to dry it (yeah, yeah, shoulda used a artificial chamois), and the car was still shiny under the dust that accumulated in the last few months, so good enough for the wife's return. whatever the dealer used on the car when we bought it in December is still shiny and repelling water and dirt.

I wonder too. When you wax it you really gain an appreciation for all the detail that went into the mold. Slightly raised mounting spots for some of the marker lights. The embossed airplane door. The raised area for the belly band that carries across the door. The lower setback in the mold also acts as some protection for anything below when water runs down the trailer.

Looks great. So he went over the whole trailer including the roof 4-5 times in only 8 hours?! I would have easily paid $500.
