Feels so good to get these clean prior to covering our 17 B.

Hi: jadams... Our 5.0TA has self cleaning windows. If I want them cleaned I have to do them myself!!! Alf

This is why I'm generally able to find more enjoyable things to do! I'm telling myself I'll keep these really clean now, probably won't happen.

Wow, you're definitely in the "can do" category now. A lot of folks would have shied away from a job like that.

I previously carried my swiveling tilting solar panel on the spare tire holder. Since I wanted my new cargo box to be close to the bumper it had to go. Made a vertical replacement for it to attach the tabernacle to. This allows me to put the panel on the 6' tube and swing it up rather than have it on and try to hold it up in the air and set it onto the vertical tube. I've done it but if it's windy.....
I hadn't planned on actually carrying the quadrant for the solar panel there but I put it in place, sort of, and that's probably where it'll end up. That'll be good, the panel will be in the box so everything will be more or less in one place.

Thanks Ron! Dustin at ETI reviewed with me what the install would consist of. After chatting with him I felt a bit more confident.
What was tricky was getting the window aligned and square as there's some space between the wall window cut out and window. Repeatedly measuring from the belly band to the bottom of the window frame did the trick prior to final lock down of the many retention screws. I was happy our Escapes have belly bands.

Yes, it's good that the belly band provides a good reference point. Not only for the measurement but also it's a very visible element and the window bottom parallel to it is important.
It's also lucky the belly band is there to act as a reliable reference point because sometimes getting one from a f.g. molded object is tricky. For example a molded ridge on one side may not be exactly in the same position relative to the one in another area. The intent may have been to have them the exact same distance from some other point but sometimes during the plug and mold making process small differences creep in.
What's next?

Today was pretty much the last step in the cargo box project.
Installed webbing anchors so I can strap down the contents which are: one 100 watt solar panel, one zero gravity chair, one directors chair, two camp tables, one camp chair and the kayak gear bag holding everything needed for the two kayaks.
Don't know when I'll actually be able to take it on the road. Right now I feel like I'm all dressed up with no where to go.

Nice. A well thought out, light weight, and functional design.

Ouch, Ron, and here I sit, stewing in serious quarantine, scrambling, yawning, thrashing about for something, anything, to do for my trailer and-- this is the best I could come up with.

Maybe for some folks but reading all the posts about BBQs, cooking and eating outside we're in the minority. We've always cooked and mostly eaten in the trailer.
On the other hand we did get a nice pop up shelter and used it to eat outside a couple of times this summer. Eating outside without bugs made it more enjoyable. So I guess it's never say never.

Well aren't those real pretty. If you were going to paint the hub caps I'd expected a person with your artistic talents to have put a Jackson Pollock paint job on them. Might look very interesting when they're twirling away on the highway.

After I painted them I thought they looked a bit to "girly" to me, but.... That can of plastic spray paint ("sea Foam,") was the only one on the shelf. You use what you got.

Well before I put the box away on its storage rack I thought that I'd see if a couple of more items would fit.
So I added 2 sets of kayak and one set of SUP paddles and the mattress for my zero gravity chair. All up weight of the box and contents is 115 lbs. Net increase on the back end, with the spare tire moving forward, is 73 lbs. Since the box of the truck will have room for some of the items, except for the solar panel and zero gravity chair. The box is their home.

Inflatable kayak
Ahoy, Ron,
So what brand of inflatable kayak do you have? Just curious, and a long time 'yaker.
I acquired a Seylor inflatable this year and used it on a couple of Escape trips. It floats, it's 2 steps above being a pool toy, and is comfortable to boot. Nice for an early morning paddle, cup of coffee along, mist rising off the water and the loons calling about.
I got a bit too old to hoist an 80 lb 17' tandem fiberglass 'yak atop a full size van. Still can do, I think, but it's sketchy.
bon voyage,

Hi Tom
I find that if I drink about a half a bottle of piestengel , German for Rhubarb, it gives me near super-human strength. I needed it this week to put a rough sawn 4”X12” by 8 feet of American Black Walnut about head high in my wood rack, but alas, I was out of the juice and did the deed without assistance of Piestengel steroid. I’ve had an Old Town canoe, square stern aluminum canoe, Folbot kayak all years ago. Too old now.

What are you gonna do?
Dave,
With that cache of timber, what is your plan? Going to build something?
I could make another swell cheese serving tray with some of that wood.
You still need to receive your Windsor cheese and drink tray.
