What did you do for your Escape today.....

Replaced the black plastic entry door hand rail with a 24 inch SS one, way easier to use.

Pat, I looked at all the handles at RV sales sites, did not, like any of them, too big, too short, cheap plastic, etc. Then I went to the local marine store and they had a big selection of SS handles, all different lengths. The price was similar to the plastic ones when including their shipping.

The one I got is slightly oval, easy to hold. I did manage to put in plywood backer pieces.

Hi Chris at a job right now but will connect about your installation. I tried during our build to get Escape to put a different handle , no luck . Any pics of your backing would definitely help Pat

Yes Donna I was thinking the same I was thinking smaller lend a hand Bigfoot puts on or the one Motorhomes use , metal attachments but thick plastic round middle . Pat

I doubt it, the heating doesn't occur on boats with all their SS. If it did, there are wraps for handles that can be added later.

Not quite the same but FYI ETI will agree to deliver the exterior handle loose/un-installed with no holes drilled in the shell (that's the spec on my very recently confirmed/signed final build-sheet).

At least it leaves a 'clean-slate' for DYI options such as Chris' good-looking solution

oooh, we have a camper joining us in July who would appreciate this, my wife's sister is only 4' tall.

I'm buying a '2-step RV porch', its actually 3 steps, the top one is 21" high which is what I measure the floor height of the Escape, so I'll need to trim the legs to be 19" high, then the door should clear it. The steps are 7", 14", 21", so after trimming the legs, they will be 5", 12", and 19", which I'm hoping our little person will be able to negotiate, with the help of a sturdy hand rail on this step platform.

i haven't seen it yet (gets here Friday) but this is what I'm talking about.. the hand rail reverses to the other side so it will clear the door and I'll probably have to shorten it a couple inches to clear the bottom of the door, but it should make my Escape more ADA

Nice set up does it by any chance fold up. If it does that would be a perfect set up for us later on in camping lol .

ya know, I was going over the manufacturers assembly instructions, and I realized, NO, it does NOT fold up, whoops, that makes it pretty useless. the instruction sheet says its for PARK MODEL mobile homes, whooops.

I have a platform step thats 7-8" (adjustable), what I need is another one thats like 14". i'll try making something out of scrap wood, I have some 2x8's here.
