Talking Trailer names

Our Escape 2016 21 is now named Billie Holiday, Billie for short. She is pulled by our Tacoma, Rocky who kept his name after being part of the Rocky and Pullwinkle team. Our little Casita, which is now rehomed took her name with her!

Since I've had a life long pursuit of hunting with falcon's , it only seemed right to name her "Peregrine"
Merrian/Webster defines as: A tendency to wander.

Cute name! You know, that's the only art medium I've never used?

Here's another one:

Eggceptional!

"Hazel" is a funny one as well ... Makes one wonder what was the prompt or origin of the name.

The only vehicle, recreation or drivable, that had a name was my first ever car, Tony. That is what the key chain I got with it said.

Some may think I am not fun with not wanting to put a name to a non-living thing, but I think you all are just weird....

Fascinating - I was not aware of this previous use of the word, before it became the name of the bird. Even earlier, it apparently meant "foreign" - maybe not what you want, Craig.

Without the "wandering" definition, I would have associated the name only with the falcon, and thus with speed and agility. Well, it is a light trailer, and the current Carlisle tires have a higher speed rating than traditional ST tires...

We have Peregrines here and see them occasionally, thanks to many years of work at the breeding facility at Wainwright, where birds were raised for release to bring the endangered Anatum Peregrine back from the brink of extinction (along with the banning of DDT).

How about a silhouette of a Peregrine as part of the graphics?

Good falcon knowledge Brian B-P . I have only heard falconers referencing the sub-species Anatum in their recovery, most only know it as the Peregrine. The efforts of captive breeding and the release of the Anatum peregrine is most extrodianary endangerd species recovery effert to date. I'm proud to say I've helped.

Yes, there is other view points…..Oxford definition is……coming from another country ( foreign) that' not the one I like. The " tendency to wander" I believe is because the peregrine is found on all continents except Antarctica, unlike any other falcon. The falcons two nicknames are the Duckhawk and the Wanderer the later given to them by 17th century European falconers.

I like your correlation about light/fast trailer and this bird, never crossed my mind.
A silhouette of the peregrine is a good one, might have to do that.

This is a good thing. I do better with folks with a little weird in their make up.

Thanks Huskersteffy for the utube! In my youth I found Led Zeppelin a bit too noisy for my tastes. However(now 57 years old)and seeing them receive numerous lifetime achievement awards it peaked my interest. As individuals their talent is epic and as a foursome they may have have been the best band that ever lived!

I love the discussions here. From Peregrine and it's multiple meanings and symbolism, to the Led Zeppelin rock 'n' roll references, then back to a calming Oasis...

You all have explained your choices well, and the reasoning behind the names. Some are just so clever!

It's difficult for me to pin down one word or phrase. I may decide to be a little "weird" like Donna, and not have a name at all.

Simply because this trailer represents so much more than just one name, word, concept, or feeling. So, it's just much "More than a Feeling"....

Hello Addie, you hit it right on the head. These trailers are more than components, to me, when I get to retirement soon, it's the means to travel all North America coast to coast and see a all the natural beauty, the people of both USA and Canada and soak local cultures. It's what I have wanted to do all my life. I especially love the US and will spend a lifetime discovering it in great detail appreciating the American culture and history of how we became so great. The trailer will facilitate that for Kim and I. By the way I grew up in Illinois.

The other great part of Escape ownership is this right here. My extended family on the forum. A nicer bunch of caring people I consider family, I look forward meeting soon.

We use Floating Cloud as we are just floating along ---- well, almost, over the land and lakes. Not in a hurry to get anywhere. Usually anyway.

Donna, Portland is solid. Liked that place when visiting the book store and all.
