Where does everyone keep their clothes?

My wife started watching some of the ETI videos with me and her fist question is where will we put our clothes? So everyone GO....

We each get an upper cubby above the bed. The one at the rear is for clothes we dont use all the time, eg mosquito hoods, extra sweaters, rain pants, etc depending on the season. It is PLENTY of room for us. We went across Canada last summer for 8 weeks in a 17B and had room to spare. The 19 we have now seems quite spacious. Shoes go under passenger side dinette in front. We both use packing cubes to make it easy—eg one for shirts, one for pants, one for undies and socks.

Some clothes are hung in the closet. Others go in the drawer I made under the bed and the sliding basket under the stove. What is left is in a box under the truck topper.

We have the current smallest Escape, a 17A. Our only hanging clothes are jackets and such, that are by the door on Umbra hooks. All of the rest of our clothes are folded and kept either in the plethora of overhead cabinets or in the 21" wide wardrobe area. Within that, we have Elfa wire basket/bins that slide out. We have sufficient room for all our needs.
If you're considering the 19 or 21, from what I've seen and heard from owners, there is lots of space.

I use packing cubes, too, and put clothes in the upper cabinets in back in the cubes. Room for a lot more than I bring! Jackets hang by the door, shoes just depend I usually only have one to wear and one other. I don't hang anything up but if I had to I'd probably hang them in the truck.

I have a tension rod, up close to the ceiling, in the bathroom. I hang my coat(s) in there using a clothes hanger to drip when they're soaking wet. Who cares if the bathroom gets wet... One of the benefits of the 5.0TA is we get an actual hanging closet in addition to the pantry.

In my 5.0TA, all of mine is folded and on the two optional shelves we had installed in the wardrobe closet. My wife gets all the cabinets in the sleeping loft. It, too, is all folded, but hung.

We take 14 days of clothes each. 7 days are in the trailer in the closet on shelves, cubby each side over bed. Each of us have a Rubbermaid tub w/lid that has the other 7 days of clothes and is stored in the bed of the pickup. Dirty clothes go in the Rubbermaid tubs at 7 day swap. We try and hit the laundromat about day 10.

Another item to consider is "space saver" bags where you compress all the air out. You can pack big and bulky items easily that way,

In our 5.0 Terry gets one side of the upper cabinets and the space next to the bed. I get the other side and use clothes cubes on my side that fit perfectly in the space next to the bed. Terry also gets the upper passenger side cabinet in the dinette area and I get the upper drivers side cabinet in the dinette area. Neither one of us gets to tell the other how to pack their space, in spite of the fact that Terry's space is packed incorrectly.

Well, I'm escaping 200" of snow during the winter and gone from home for 6 months or so, so I suspect one set won't make it.

I had a pair of shelves installed in the closet & another in the added over the drawer stack closet. When I retired I gave up on hanging stuff, so everything except a 5 hook Umbra Flip Wall Mount Rack on the refrigerator wall (facing the dinette) I use for my collection of flannel shirts goes on the shelves. Since I travel through 3 seasons, I do keep a plastic bag of out-of-season stuff under the bed.

The in season coat or jacket & hats hang on a 2 hook Umbra next to the door on the end of the over the sink cabinet.

I start out with 14 pairs of sox, underwear and "T" shirts (although they insist on multiplying during the trip), a couple pairs of shorts & 3-4 pairs of cargo pants. About 3-4 flannel shirts on the hooks. Shoes (a couple pairs of sneakers, one pair of loafers, and one pair of hiking boots) go in a milk crate under the bed. I also have a sweatshirt or 2, and a sweater.

I usually carry 2 towels, and 2 sets of sheets for the bed along with 2 lightweight blankets. Stored in the upper cabinet at the head of the bed.

I use an Escape laundry bag for dirty clothes - stuffed full + a set of sheets is two washing machines worth & gets done every 10 - 12 days.

We carry 2 SMALL tubs of clothing and as padlin said “you are on vacation / camping so one set will do “
Clothing takes up valuable space that would be better utilized
/ devoted for items such as food , snacks, beer , wine , etc .

I carry two weeks' of clothes-- mostly t-shirts, jeans, and shorts. I fold them all and store them in the side upper cabinets over the bed area. I put extra towels, washcloths, sheets, a midweight jacket and a rain suit (for the PNW) in the front upper cabinet over the bed. Socks go into the top drawer of the set of drawers near the bed, underwear goes into the second drawer. I put the dirty clothes in a big duffel and use it to carry them to a laundromat every 14 days. I converted the closet into a pantry so I don't store clothes there. I have a couple of hooks near the door to hold a light jacket and my Tilley hat.
