My guess is that should be Beloit. From memory, about midway east to west and just north of the Illinois border, or at least somewhere near there.

They had an interestingly shaped municipal swimming pool at Beloit at one time. May have been replaced by now. They lovingly called it the toilet bowl. Very nice people worked for the city when we visited there once.

Wonder if you mean Beloit? Way south within a mile of the Illinois border, just north of Janesville. I went to undergraduate school there back in the day.

Todd Anderson in his original post listed that his residence is in "Beloi " Wisconsin . I know where "Beloit" Wisconsin is located , been there several times , but do not know where "Beloi" Wisconsin is located . My post (#1) on this thread was split off from a different thread and now has no context which makes it confusing.
Wisconsinese has many dialects so I thought "Beloi" was possibly a local derivative or an abbreviation of " Beloit"..

I did it. Yours was the third post in "Pro's cons 5 verse 5ta"
Talk about a quick thread drift.

The local dialect pronounces it "Bel wa". I think it is a bit in jest to add a French accent. At one time Beloit was a gritty industrial town, with foundries, engine manufacturing and paper machines. It has really reinvented its industrial base and now is the world headquarters for ABC Supply, still has Colt industries manufacturing 2,000+ horsepower diesel engines, and a lot of food manufacturing. Great town to drive through with all the aroma, actually it is better biking to get the full effect. I do it a lot, as recent as this afternoon. Not the good smells on Sunday.
