Windows in 17B
I am trying to decide between the Escape 17B and the Airstream Sport 16. The Escape has many features and options and is significantly less expensive. However, the Airstream has a beautiful panoramic window. I like windows and want to be able to enjoy the scenery, even on a rainy day. So my question is, how many windows could I add to the 17B?
Thanks for your help. And if you want to weigh in on any other issues, I'm happy to hear your advice.

17B has 7 windows stock---three on each end and one in the door---you can add one over the kitchen sink and in the bathroom. There really is a lot of windows for the size of the trailer

We also looked at one of the smaller Lance trailers for their expansive three window set up around their bed. Unlike Escape, the middle window opens in the Lance. Do your due diligence with regard to quality with this brand however. The expansive view from the rear bed is one of the things we like best about the 17B. We prop ourselves up with large pillows on the bed and lounge around there all the time gazing out those windows.

and neither Lance nor Airstream will customize the interior, making your unit special to you. Ask the others to add a window or even an extra 12v or 120v outlet and let us know what they say. We know Escape will say yes.

In the 2017 17B, all of the windows around the rear bed open - the rear one split.

Isn't the airstream also 8ft wide. Makes for more room inside when I was in the sport 16 at an rv show.

Correct and you will need mirror extensions.

We briefly considered an Airstream Sport, prior to getting our 17B. Beautiful, and very nicely finished, albeit expensive, heavy, and limited cargo (weight) capacity. It wasn't any of these that were the ultimate deal breaker for the Airstream though, but rather it was the appalling lack of storage space. I would consider the amount available on the airstream to be suitable only for two people for a weekend. Our 17B, on the other hand, is outfitted for our family of four for the last year on the road with clothes and gear for all weather conditions from hot to wet to snow.

That's so true. Sometimes we take for granted just how well designed and thought out Escapes are. They're not without their issues, but to my mind still the best value in RVing hands down.

I also looked at the Airstream Sport. Chose Escape due to fiberglass build. Did like the windows in Airstream however my 17B has great visibility with the new awning type windows. Don't regret my choice at all.

The new awning windows are very nice. Dark tint is nice on bright days helping to keep inside cool. And love the back window opening either one or both panes.

I just sold my '87 Bigfoot 5er. It was eight feet wide and my OEM Ford tow mirrors were quite sufficient when extended. I'm greatly looking forward to the 8" narrower 5.0 TA. Towing the Bigfoot through construction zones with narrow lanes was quite stressful. An extra 4" on each side will make a big difference. The new Escapes don't have arms on the awnings, so that give me another 4" clearance on the curbside (the most stressful side).
Yes, an extra 8" inside definately is more spacious, but the 5.0 TA has quite enough room for me.
