At the risk of going off on a tangent, what are peoples recommendation for places to stay for the night up in Chilliwack? Mostly for me, that means clean and affordable with possibly a decent breakfast.

The Best Western has proven to be a favorite for hundreds of owners. And, it's just down the street from the Escape factory. In my case, I seem to always have a bunch of Hilton Honors points which I've accumulated on business travel. So for me, it's the Hampton Inn nearby, because I can stay for free.

I love hamburgers, and McDonald's can't seem to do those right either. Seems like lots of fast foods joints jumped on the poutine bandwagon, but serve something that is crappy.

I second your recommendation! I’ve been to Cilliwack 3 times and eaten at Cookies each time. I’ve never been disappointed!

Last time I was there I also had a wonderful dinner at Bravo Restaurant & Lounge downtown Chilliwack.

As others have said, I stay at the Best Western. Will do so again when we pick up our new 5.0 on April 25th. Be sure to ask for the ETI discount when making your reservation.

I love donairs but my weak spot is cinnamon buns. I started many days at UBC with one . Most commercial ones are poor substitutes. Sometimes no raisins , coated with sugar and dough that doesn't come close to the real thing. The best cinnamon buns in the world are at a little place in the woods near Skookumchuck Narrows. Long drive for a cinnamon bun but I've done it.

Best Western is the best in Chilliwack …or at least I have been happy. Mention ETI and you get 20% off (or is it 10% … no I seem to remember 20%). Restaurant there , while not 5 star is pretty good and the hot tub after dinner is …. well who would want more? Rooms were very clean.

and you can literally walk over to Escape, next door. In addition they will allow a late departure so that you can transfer items to your new Escape before checking out. did I say the waffles are exceptional and complimentary? One more thing, they are pet friendly....

I second the Hampton Inn. We’ve stayed there twice and will again this summer. It’s relatively new, the staff is very friendly and the price is competitive with others in the area.

UNLESS: your Escape is an export to the U.S., and you're picking it up in Sumas. Then, you have to wait until it clears customs, and then transfer your stuff.

Where was this? I have lived for 68 years in the USA and have never been asked if I wanted gravy with those fries. Of course, I never ate pizza or Asian food until I left the Res for college either. Basically, I have lived a life unimpacted by culturally refined cuisine.

Almost in your backyard, near Seattle. But I've been asked many times since then if I wanted gravy on my fries. No thanks, vinegar and ketchup do it for me.
