I noticed that a lot of people have the 12v connections at the TV areas.
I understand that pulling direct from the 12v uses less power than routing via an inverter, but the prices of 12v televisions seems to be quite high. Is the cost difference worth the investment, or am I missing something? (Which is more likely!)
Don't know where you are looking for it but we bought our 19" LCD TV/DVD combo operating off of 12v from a local store (RCA 19inch LED LCD TV/DVD Combo - RLEDV1910A - London Drugs) for about $130. I have shown a link to a tv similar to ours. I am sure that you could find something similar closer to where you are at. Ours works fine on the 12v power in the trailer and we have used it a number of times to watch movies at night.
Practically all the new LED televisions are 12v, that is what that little black square black box that is plugged into with, a converter from 120v to 12v. They are no more expensive than other models, 12v or 120v.

The power supply depends on the size. Small TVs are more likely to use a separate power supply "brick"; larger TVs tend to build it into the cabinet, so even if it internally runs on 12V DC you don't see that part.
My motorhome has a small TV in the bedroom that has a separate "brick", while the big one in the living area has the AC cord plugged straight into it. Both are the same manufacturer (Jensen) and even in the same series of products. Of course, although the small TV came with various power cords (for direct wiring to 12VDC or plugging in to a 12 V accessory socket) the idiots at Damon installed an AC receptacle and used the brick (for which they had to pay extra)... not as bright as Escape Trailer Industries, apparently.
