21 bed - small removalble shelves

There was a thread I can't find discussing a drink tray or shelf for the bed area of the 21s as folks were trying to use collapsible tables while viewing tv or reading in bed.

This prototype consists of an "L" shaped piece of 3/16" ABS plastic which tucks under either side of the mattress wherever you want with a seamless tray that slips on the top.

For sleep, the tray slips off for storage - the "L" mount stays underneath the mattress. Corners will be rounded to not risk damage to the vinyl wallcovering. Any thoughts?

These would also work with the queen bed in a 19, would they not? Why limit yourself to one model?

Not limiting, just prototype phase and it came up in a discussion of 21s. It would work with any model if you have a bed to sleep in. The height can be trimmed to fit as desired.

Is the tray small enough to fit on the shelf over the head of the bed in the 21'? It appears so. If so, then one could just pop the tray off the stand and set it into the self when calling it a night without having to get up out of bed to place the tray somewhere else out of the way.

Yes, it's sized to hold a coffee cup, water bottle, wine glass, etc. Easily fits on the 21 shelf, but then you'd still have a beverage holder to deal with before sleeping.
