I guess they fit in the battery box, were you able to close the lid completely?
They turn 1/4 turn to lock and are installed individually. The only issue that I ran into was the tubing between each cap was a bit too long which required a little work with a pair of snips. There was a little trial and error on where to put the fill tube for the best connetion

Aside from that, the tubing fits fine in the battery box with the lid closed. I keep the bulb outside box, which is a non-issue because the bulb is not supposed to be left connected to the fill caps anyway.

I think we are talking about different solutions. The Hydrocaps don't use any tubing. They are designed to "capture" the water that boils off & return it to the cell, thus requiring less refilling.

My problem with them is if you opened the "flap" to check water level, you couldn't see the insides all that well. Removing them to check was difficult, and more work than it was worth doing.

The watering system that used tubes to each cap and a hand pump is what I switched to. The caps do not need to be removed since all you do is squeeze the pump until it won't squeeze anymore. Much easier, although it didn't solve the propane alarm issue.

I should add that I didn't try the Hydrocap brand - I used Water Miser.

What I have is the flow rite system you switched to. Assuming the Interstate batteries last a few years, this setup appears to eliminate one of the big downsides of the flooded cells. Even though it was outrageously expensive for what it is, the total cost is a lot less than AGMs.

I was pretty happy to have discovered this system on these forums. I only wish I’d read the posts about moving the battery box over a couple of inches prior to picking up my trailer.

One side benefit of installing the Flow-rite system was discovering that the battery connection on that second, less accessible battery was not even finger tight from the factory.
