5.0 Reinforced walls. Which ones and why?

Working on the build sheet for our 5.0

Would like to know which walls you chose to reinforce and why?

Review of build-pics in the It's Friday .... thread will reveal that the standard vertical and horizontal framing in most walls will accommodate robust screwed attachment of things without additional reinforcement.

Having done that I elected reinforced wall #5 (D/S bathroom wall, face side) in my 5.0 as that is the one wall where I thought I might want to firmly mount something in the future (e.g. stairs handrail) without constraint of existing framing location.

YMMV of course

I found no reason to do any in either of my Escapes. I use the framing to hang stuff, works fine.

You'll find most reinforce the bathroom wall. It is the one wall that most attach something. We have Umbra strips and a hand rail where we wanted them, not limited to only where the framing is located.

The rest have not needed reinforcement and have yet to need reinforcement, but again, we wanted to put anything, anywhere on that bathroom wall.

Food for thought,

Perry

I'm reinforcing one through six, just so I can do whatever I want on all those walls later.

I can still see Reace when talking to me with eyes rolling finding it hard to believe the amount of reinforcing some thought necessary. [emoji4]

I bet lots of folks are wondering why these things don't fall down with no reinforcing. I don't. [emoji16] That cost rack is very full when we go to bed and our coats and clothes are hung there. Click image for larger version

Rease told us that the only wall that might need reinforcing was the bath wall. We wanted our Umbra hooks higher than you mounted them and a handrail where we wanted, not at a height to be determined by the bracing. Again, Rease agreed it would be wise for us to reinforce the bathroom wall. He did question other walls though.

The wall in the dinette we didn't reinforce, we use 3M hooks that can go anywhere.

We're all different, with different reasons.

The wall between bathroom and closet by stairs. A hand rail on the edge helps stabilize getting down stairs from bed. Especially good for older people.

We too reinforced just the bathroom wall facing into the cabin. We will likely have a handrail installed, sooner or later.
