5.0 slide-out generator carrier

I built a telescoping rear hitch generator tray for my 5.0TA. It is designed to slide rearward 10" for loading/operating, and then slide forwards for travel. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but I think it is going to work😃. Moved spare tire(42lbs w/brkt) to the front 5th wheel pin box. Honda EU3000 wejghs 200lbs about so I think it will be ok considering I removed the weight of the spare tire.
Has anyone else been struggling with how to load/haul a Honda eu3000?
Once again I will attempt to load some pics and a video.

Nice job, does it sit on the bumper to stabilize? I noticed it wobble a bit side to side when pushing it in. Those 3000's are sure nice and this solves the weight issue.

It wobbles a bit when telescoped out but of no problem when loading or running. When it's in for storage it sits secured and stabile on the bumper.
I am trying to add some pics of the finished unit, bear with my technical incompetence with this "loading" stuff

My question is why does a Minnesotian need a generator for a/c? Does it get that hot and humid there?

August threshing parties can be brutal. Usually we will not carry the generator but when we do I won't need the neighbors to help load it anymore. Actually I intend to make some attachments for it down the road for carrying lawn chairs, barbeque or etc??. That's why I made the tie-down points in all four corners. Unlimited possibilities. I'm even thinking about a solar panel attachment down the road.

Is anyone else unable to see the video? When I try to play it goes to a black screen and does a your add will close in 20 seconds, then starts count down from 20 but when it finishes the count down the screen still is black and no video/audio plays.

Nice work. Honda EU3000 weighs 131#. Add another 20# or so for fuel. The weight of the eu3000 is why many guys link up two eu2000’s (now eu2200’s) instead. Probably close to the same cost, more power, easier to handle and more versatility.

Yes it' was a tough decision for us, the weight of the 3000 is too much to manhandle but it's actually a little quieter and only one big tank to fill, and runs a long time too. To be honest, up until I got the wheel kit for the 3000 and made this new carrier I kind of wished I would have gotten two 2000's. But now I'm a happy camper,😃 It's easier to handle my 3000 than the 2000's. I never have to lift anything now, except the fuel can.

Credit to you for feeling the pain of something less than ideal and figuring out a solution to the problem

Ok I'll try posting a pic of the brkt when it was just tack welded. My camper is in storage so I do not have any dimensions. I bolted it to the pin box with 1/2" grade8!bolts, using the two existing 1/2" holes from the factory. I did tack weld the 1/2" nuts to a 1/4" backer-plate inside the pin box for extra strength, but that might be over engineering. I believe the square tube was 1-1/2" X 1/8" wall. I made it tall enough so it would even hold the spare tire of my pickup if I choose.
It works really nice, surprised I haven't seen it done before.
