5.0 TA Window Sizes

Didn't find this when searching posts, so ...

Can someone tell me what the sizes are of the queen bed frameless windows and overhead hatch in a 2nd gen 5.0 TA? We're looking to make some blackout curtains for our maiden trip after we pick it up in March.

Don't have ready access to our trailer so can't grab the window measurements for you, hopefully someone else will. But we found that the escape hatch does not let light in like we expected - we had planned on making blackout curtains for it also but found that we did not need them. Although the hatch cover is plastic, it is fairly thick and does not let light through.

You might try the existing ones your first trip. We have found no issue with unwanted light. Mind you, we do sleep when it is dark out and I am usually up before sunup. Even if you still felt the need, waiting would not only give you exact sizes, but also give you an idea how best to mount them.

Hi: RonB... For us no blackout curtains required. I did stuff the "Exit" hatch with a cheap flexable Home Hardware ceiling panel cut to size. No night lights required either for those mid night "Skip to the loo's".

We're thinking about those nights when we're stopping at a rest stop or Walmart on our way from point A to point B. Parking lot lamps are pretty bright and will likely keep it very light in the loft.

Mary likes to sleep in sometimes so we like to be able to keep the bedroom really dark. When we store our trailer, I have cut out pieces of Reflectix and put in every window, really seems to help with the hot Texas sun beating down. When we travel we bring along the Reflectix pieces for the bedroom windows and use them to keep it really dark when desired. They fold or roll up and are easily stowed under the steps when we want the bedroom windows open.

This is a valid point and has been pretty much my only nighttime light concern. The first time I did it I did not consider that I was parked near a parking lot. Well the light did not bother me too much, whenever I saw it I thought it must be well into the morning already. Since then I have learned to park so that parking lot lights do not shine into the sleeping area very much at all.

Same here, Reflectix. We have Reflectix for the hatch over the bed. When it gets below degrees we have Reflectix cut to insulate the three windows in the rear dinette. They store neatly out of site behind the seat cushions when not needed. I left one off the first night needing the Reflectix and it made quite a difference. And if you like dark, this is one way to get the camper really dark.

When it gets below 30 we also have Reflectix for the three windows in the rear dinette area. The first night I only put two pieces in place and found it makes quite a difference.

We have Reflectix cut to size for the 2 loft windows, the roof emergency exit, and the doors window, use as needed. It's an easy fix if you don't get your blackout shades done. I don't have the same windows so can't help with the measurements. The roof exit is the most used, by far.
