Since the existing step glued on, how did you remove it without destroying other components? Could it be cut with a vibrating saw?

Here's a partial wrap piano hinge I found for the top step in my 5.0 when I opened it up for additional storage. The hinge allowed me to use the existing step support fastened to the front wall dividing the step storage from the front compartment and fastened securely to the bottom of the step/lid with a few screws. The hinge made the job so easy that I spent most of my time pulling staples out of the ETI-installed carpet.

I had to buy two hinges and have one left over. I'll bring it to the October Fort Casey gathering if anyone wants it and reminds me.

This partial wrap piano hinge description from rockler.com stated it is only in a 48” length. Can you cut it to length?

Reece stated the top step was not hinged to keep the trailer’s structural integrity intact. I would think a 1/2”-3/4” floor securely fastened for the top step storage area would do the same thing.

The design of the partial wrap piano hinge looks awesome - a real time saver.

Yes, the Rockler hinge can be cut to length. That's what I did.
