Awning Side Screen

Looking for an inexpensive awning side screen? We purchased an IKEA shower curtain, 71 x 71 and used the Camping World light hook to attach it to the Carefree Awning track. It works great and can be pulled back and tied to the side. To keep it in place, we are using 2, three pound lead fishing weights that I coated with DipIt. I had the inspiration at the NOG rally at Bullard's Beach after being in Tony's Bait Shop. This allows you to easily adjust the position of the screen. (One more thing to keep that fridge intake cooler.)

side screen

Tim,
I have the weights and they worked great in San Diego. I also bought the dip it and need to do that before the next trip, thanks for the idea.

I saw one of these on Gabi/Wolf's unit at Osoyoos. They used a cloth colored curtain I believe with big loops. Nice looking.

Yes, I probably should have noted that the idea was inspired by others. The hooks , weights, and where to get the curtain were intended to make it easier for others to duplicate. All ideas generously borrow from others and I thank them all for that.

Where did you get the brown cloth/grommet light hook holders that feed into the awning tract?

Camping world light hooks and you will need two packages. There are 8 to a package and 12 holes on the IKEA curtain. I have since added 1/4 include grommets to the curtain holes to reinforce them and I did put a grommet on each lower corner of the curtain to have something to tie to.
