Bathroom Mods
I have always hated the “ Cheezy “ white medicine cabinet frame. So, I decided to upgrade. I made a frame out of quarter sawn white oak for a replacement.
I also made a floor insert. I used a premade 24” X 24” Ipe decking tile from Advantage lumber. http://buy.advantagelumber.com/colle...24-x-24-smooth Total cost $33.00
I cut the square to fit and finished with danish oil. It looks and feels great but it is heavy.

Well I've never said "cheezy" in telling my wife how much I didn't like that white plastic frame. I've gotten her to budge from "it's fine" to agree that I could at least paint it brown.
Now all I have to do is show her your photo and say "doesn't that look much nicer".

The bathroom cabinet Escape installs is an American Pride 9601.

My wife and I didn't care for the cheesy door surround nor the spring door latch but we went a different route than trying to fix it - I just replaced the whole cabinet.
I installed an American Pride 9622WBAR12 frameless magnetic catch medicine cabinet.

I broke our mirror within the first few outing with trailer. I bought a reinforced mirror, but I like yours better. The plastic frame twists and that is how I broke ours. Nice mod Ross

Our bathroom cabinet door is installed so when closing the door it wants to include the shower curtain. To us, it’s in backwards. In theory it appears it the cabinet is symmetrical. Has anyone removed the cabinet, flipped to so the hinge is on the right?
Thanks,
Perry

Perry: I don't have one of these but the stock ETI model that Tom linked to in post #4 indicates the units are reversible. That means that they can be flipped to change the door swing. The mounting holes probably won't line up based on how ETI mounts the cabinet but that shouldn't be of any consequence as they are all covered.

I happen to have mine out and after looking at it seems it can installed either way. I was going to do some shelve mods, but now i might reverse it to see what i think. I plan on doing ed's mod to the shelve,But been having trouble finding floor trim that will work.

That white plastic frame around the medicine cabinet may be "cheezy" but I'm a big fan of cheese - especially if its sitting next to a couple bottles of full bodied red wine!!

Being that I don't have a medicine cabinet in my old 2015 5.0ta I have a question. Did they cut the wall of the bathroom to put in the cabinet? Can you see or feel the side of the fridge with it removed?

It's not on the fridge side of the bathroom. It hangs over the toilet.
One of the slickest mods I've seen when adding a medicine cabinet was Dave's installation. It involves cutting through the bathroom wall, but it's flush mount. Check it out.
