Battery Disconnect

Nothing new to you guys but I finally got my battery disconnect done on my trailer. I have one funny little story to share with all about my battery cables they where free all I had to do was go dumpster diving for them. I work in industrial maintenance so dumpster hunting is something that almost every tradesman does at times. The two copper 6 AWG fine wire cables I got out of the dumpster where actually the right lengths I did not have to even cut then down to size I only had to change one terminal on each cable to make them work.

Nice work Mark, do you find the converter door opens when someone sits there? I had that problem in my 19'?

Jim. I have not had any problem yet with this converter door opening when it is bump by someone foot. But I know from my last trailer as time went on that the converter door would not stay closed. So I would not be surprised if the same thing ends up happening to this converter door.

Jim, do you have a problem with the converter door opening on your 21? As I recall, it is under the dinette in the 21 as well.

Yes and I installed 2 door handles there to keep your shins away and the opening stopped- look closely at the converter here

My battery cutoff switch is near the converter(?) door, which is under the large dinette in my 17B. I have to crawl underneath with a flashlight since mine is made into a bed (for me permanently). So actually both are really awkward to reach, since they are near the back wall. At least Jim's are much easier to reach. The main thing for me is to remember to turn the battery switch to on before towing, and to turn it off when storing.
