Convert U-dinette to bench style in 19 ft.

I want to convert a U-shaped dinette into the bench style. Has anyone attempted this and know of any nasty surprises that may be waiting for me? Also, are there any custom cables that need to be replaced/lengthened in order to move the converter and the inverter over to the side bench location?

Rick.

Welcome Rick
Do you have a 19 on order? If so you can order more factory fabric.
I will be doing my own u as I do not like to loose the ability to have the stock configuration as well. I will be making a matching cushion on plywood that sits on the bed rails for the bottom and a hinged back rest so it tilts out at the bottom to form a lounge on each side.
I have ordered more of the factory fabric so it all matches. Enough also to do a headboard that will also tilt out at the bottom to make a lounge back and keep any pillows off any damp walls.

I purchased a used 19 and want to convert the U-dinette to the bench style. ETI says that it would be better for me to get locally/make myself, the new cushions and table. But has anyone else tried this? The power converter and inverter will need to be moved to be under the bench seat on the side, and some of the cables will need to be lengthened or replaced. I'm not afraid of doing this but don't want to re-invent the wheel if someone has already done this and can point me to the resources that are needed.
thanks,
Rick

I wonder if someone in your area who owns one and wants the u-dinette could arrange a swap out?

I was just thinking the same, how hard would it be to convert/swap my standard 19 to a "U" set up?
