Countertop cabinet over closet in 17B

After seeing so many great ideas at the rally I was feeling inventive. I am always looking for more space for food prep - decided to move the fire extinguisher then build an oak cabinet to house electronics and small stuff leaving the counter free. My USB/12V/120 are all on the side of the cabinet.

Nice job! Handy, convenient, and not cutting down on space.

Kym,
Very nice just wondering what did you used to secure your shelf to your upper cabinet?

(2) 1/4 inch wedge-all fasteners with the washer on the outside of the threads. I drilled 1/4 inch holes for the threads to a depth of 1 inch. With the washer and nut installed in the hole to max depth I placed a 7/8th nail-on felt chair pad (which has a recessed face that would normally be nailed to a chair foot) on the top end of the fastener. It just fits over the fastener. Using a small vice grip to keep the top of the fastener from turning I extended the nut to expand upwards to the cabinet. At the right side of the cabinet being solid there is no issue of damaging the upper cabinet. At the left side I had to place a broader block of material between the chair pad to avoid punching through the cabinet. Careful how much pressure you apply - it doesn't take much to keep the cabinet in place. There are no marks on any of the original cabinetry.
