Question Dark Sleepin'

I know the newer acorn colored shades block some light. However, I am a light sensitive sleeper. Meaning the 1st ray of morning light will wake me up and, because I'm not a fisherwoman, I would prefer it didn't! If there are other like sighted souls out there, can you tell me what you may have added/changed on the windows to help or alleviate this "problem?" And no I don't want to have to wear a sleep mask every night in my trailer

We have found that the silver foil heat reflectors for camping chairs fit very well in behind the shades on our 19 ft and provide excelent "room darkening" we only use them in the hot summer time as if it is chilly out condensation gets trapped in there. this isn't a problem when its hot out and the sun is up really early.

There is a dark film that is available for car windows that could be put on the windows.

I'm so sleeping in J Mac's trailer.

In separate beds, of course.

When I had a pop-up trailer I cut window inserts out of "Reflectix" material, and placed them between the screens and plastic windows. It was mostly for temperature control, but it darkened the interior very well. When not in use I stored the inserts flat under the bunk cushions.

J Mac's trailer might get a little full if that's the solution!

I was thinking that mini blinds with suction cups. Or some type of dark film that you spray a mist of water on the glass and up it goes and comes off just as easy for day time use.

Why not ask Escape if the blind supplier makes a more solid black out blind and swap them out.

New blinds...... A mod I overlooked. !

Back to the subject, I use blackout fabric, purchased from Hancock Fabrics. I measured the shape of the window (added 1" all around), cut the fabric and sewed velcro to the corners. I glued black velcro to the corners of the window frames. When needed it's easy to attach the blackout fabric behind the shades. When not used, I fold them and store in a cabinet.

I also have the Reflectix shades, cut for each window. But they are not as easy to store on a long trip.

DonM has the right idea. Tammy can probably give you a price for blackout shades.

Thanks Vicki and thanks to all for their input on this subject! Even J MAC's, which I have to admit was very clever and darn funny. Can't wait to meet many of you at the June rally

Have you ordered tinted windows?
That and the factory blinds are effective in my opinion.

I ordered the extra insulation and thermal windows but was not aware of a separate tinted window option.
