Dash cam mounted in the rear window.

Has anyone mounted a dash cam on the inside rear window? We have the frameless windows so wondering if a dash cam can get a halfway decent picture. We have a backup camera but want a recorded loop and some of the other dash cam features back there.
If so, what dash cam are you using?

Shooting the image through the insect screen? Or ...?

Just curious.

That's right. Don't need an Oscar for cinematography. Just a recording of what I can easily see looking out that window is good enough and works.

Was looking for anyone who does a dash cam with the frameless Escape windows and what camera works for them. There are posts of others doing dash cams with framed windows on other trailer brands.

I see no reason why it wouldn’t work. Just take the screen off for a clearer picture. On limitation would be how good is the wireless connection from the camera. Do they make cables long enough. Right now I just use the back up camera on the escape. I have an extra rear camera that I hook up n point it at the back up camera monitor to be able to record any issues. Been work good for me

I'm following this thread, not because I want a rear view camera, but because I want to hear what dash cameras folks are using....

Don't want to run long cables, have the Furion wireless camera for driving views. Think my easiest route is two single view dash cams with one on my dash for the front and one in the trailer at the rear window, both doing their own thing, independently.

They have models that auto loop and have crash detection so autosave the loop in that case. Some have internal batteries & automatically power up if they detect a parking lot incident when your parked. Rear dash cam can be wired into the rear trailer lights so it is on/off with the lights just like the Furion does.

Not clear what type you have. Seems it's wireless? Where does the loop record?
I have the dual view Rexing V1 dash camera set up. It records on a mini SD card. Been very happy with it for a yr now. I had to run a cord for the rear camera which only took about 5 mins to do. You tuck it under the edge of the headliner above the doors very easy to do.

Thanks a great idea. I didn't consider using a dual view, front and rear dash camera in the cab to simply record the Furrion rear camera display screen with the dash cam rear view camera.
