dicor slider/springfield pedestal questions

Finally got around to installing our DICOR table mount. Our table is 46” x 34” and we do not have the u-shape dinette. We will side it from bench to bench only.

What a difference between the stock mount and the DICOR! I should not have Lilly-gagged so much!

Lola was not happy that the lamp was turned off, but she is very happy with the DICOR.

In our 2014 Escape, the standard slider was a piece of plywood with a couple of plastic rails. There was a screw knob you could tighten against the table to keep it from moving, or many folks replaced the knob with a latch of one sort or another.

We changed to the Dicor slider last summer. it was a great upgrade. When it is unlocked, it is much easier to move than the stock slider. When it is locked it is much more stable than the standard arrangement. In addition, since our 2014 is the classic variety with the curved walls, we can now move the table fore and aft as we change the height.

Thank you Leon , based on your description and the issues we have encountered , our slider must be the standard factory issue .

Still available?

Are the Dicor sliders still available from any venue? I've searched; no luck so far.

Not easy as they are made in Italy. Steve(Sratos175) went out on a limb me thinks and ordered up to 20 or so for people about a year ago. Am thinking he wouldn't do it again. Escape should offer this this highly functional part as an option.

yeah, I got mine from Steve, and it was quite a project for him, they came months late, he had people whining about where their orders were, etc etc. Dicor USA just didn't seem at all interested in supporting this product line. Dicor got acquired by AirXcel, and now only seem to be pushing the RV wheels and RV roof sealants product lines,a dn their United Shade division sells pleated shades. These sliders came from a european division which I can't even locate anymore under the Airxcel or Dicor sites.

searching google for marine rv table sliders, I found this
https://www.poertner-zwaardvis.de/en...ders/64425.php

and this one from .au
https://www.caravansplus.com.au/nuov...t-p-16136.html

it strikes me you could build a 2-way slider from a 2 pairs of desk drawer or computer rack slides.

I have that Nuova Mapa table in the above link. It's awesome, and the telescoping base and slider are sold together as a package. Easy installation.
Here is my write-up on it:
https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f...der-14788.html

Too bad it's not easily available in North America, but maybe a manufacturer like Escape could buy a large quantity. I also think it would be great if Escape added something like this as an option.

Errr...That was Stratos175. Anyway, Steve imported from the Italian mfg who makes RV specialty parts. ETI imports from at least the USA and couldn't be hard for them to import this 4-way slide. I've sent them the contact info.

He ordered 30 and ended up with 45+ who wanted one. I am very thankful that Steve did this, but unfortunately he probably got nothing but a big headache. No good deed goes unpunished. Story of my life.

When I've done a deal like that, with a known demand, the people who signed up and pre-paid before the order was placed got it at actual cost, and I ordered maybe 50% to 100% more and charge a significant boost on post-order sales to cover the pain of dealing with it. I make this clear going in, so no one thinks they are being taken advantage of.

Yes, as LeonW mentioned, our standard slide was a piece of plywood with some plastic sliders. The DICOR is a great improvement for us.

Do note, installing the Dicor on my Springfield pedestal required cutting down the top plate of the pedestal.... since my E21 didn't have the riser floor, i needed to add about 3.5 inches, which i did with 2 2x4s on edge between the pedestal top and the Dicor sliders mounting. i spent a few hours over the course of a week figuring out how i wanted to do it.

i've posted pics all over and am on my tablet, so I'm not going to dig those out again

After spending several hours on the internet yesterday , your suggestion may be the easiest / best / only solution . I will check out Rocklers , they have an extensive selection of drawer and table slides / glides
Currently our table top seems to slide from side to side okay but the top is very unstable.
I’ve tightened up everything I can but it’s still not right .
Just one more project for when after the snow melts and temps get above freezing .

Thanks John

Well, Steve did get my eternal gratitude (or at least as long as I am around), and a promise that if I ever meet him, I will provide refreshment.

Ross is right, no good deed goes unpunished, but we keep on doing them. and thank whatever deity you wish for that.
