Dogs.. Dogs... Dogs.... and the build list...
We have dogs!! Anything we should add or delete form our build list?
What about after the build.... any modifications?
What experiences do you have for dogs? How can we camp and do dogs and humans right?

For one, I would think the outside shower option would be especially handy for filling water bowls and quick rinse-offs and cleaning water and food bowls with hot/warm water. A quick set-up outside pen (or pens if they need to be separated while feeding), and a rubber or carpet cover for the step so they don't risk catching a toe nail in the perforated metal step.

Excellent ideas.... yes to the outside shower and most likely on the side with the door. Will look at set up pens.... the step idea makes sense.
Thank you.

Just out of curiosity, how many and what size are your dogs? Once you start camping, the dogs will give you clues as to what they want - an elevated perch to look out a specific window, a little cubbyhole to keep out of the way of foot traffic, etc. They may claim one or the other dinette bench seats, then you just have to decide if that works for you or not, more etc., etc. During the day, most dogs we see at camp sights are either in an outside pen, tethered with adequate lead to something stationary around the campsite or on leash going for a walk with their owner. Friendly, well-behaved dogs are often a big hit at the campground because other dog lovers are missing the pets they left at home. As you can imagine, unfriendly, rowdy, noisy dogs - not so much....

You will need a cover for the metal entrance step because the holes in the step there for drainage can catch you dog's nails, depending on type of dog.

Dang Jim! That's pretty thinky! We're looking at ordering a 5.0TA and that step cover thing looked like silly waste of money. I guess I'm the one that looks silly now. Great idea!

I don't have any dogs, but I bought a strichy mat for the step. The more dirt, pine needles, etc. I can keep outside Ten Forward, the better. Not a waste of money to me.

My dogs wouldn't use the step until I covered it. I also bought Soggy dog type rugs for the inside- they like the secure footing and I can throw them in the washer (get several shorter ones if your washer can't handle a large throw rug as they get heavy when wet.) They soak up dampness and also hold a lot of sand and dirt and pine needles. (Not on the build sheet, obviously, but something you will likely want.) Think about where the dogs will sleep. I made a heavy duty bed covering (quilted denim) for daytime so they wouldn't mess up the bed linens. If yours get up on things and tend to mess up window shades you might want to forgo those for something else less easily damaged. (I'm surprised mine are still in good shape after the corgis but with my Labs they wouldn't have been.) Xpens are a great idea- where will you store them?
And you need This for your car! Or the RV one- cute trailer on that one, second row.

The problem I found with these mats that attach is keeping them in place. I ended up using a stair stick on cover. But once it goes, I recommend this tape that also covers most of the holes. https://smile.amazon.com/SlipDoctors...lip+tape&psc=1

We added a door by the bath. Then we took both doors, on the bed base, off. We blocked off a portion of under bed area off. That is the dogs area,
they love it.

I've never had that problem. But I used heavy duty zip ties instead of the springs. It's really tight on the stair. Maybe it will loosen up later, it's only been on for three years. I still like the ability to really get the bottom of my shoes clean. I don't like to sweep much

We have a Yellow English Lab male (Milo the Potentate) and a Black Lab Mix female rescue (Rose the Huntress). Then we went and rescued a German Shepherd female (Abby the Tireless). They are all so different, they cant help but get along great as a 3-pack.

I would recommend the out door shower and a Dyson hand held/stick vacuum - you have labs you have hair! Plus my dogs track in lots of pine needles and sand . I also throw a blanket over my bedding to keep sand out of my bed

We re-upholstered the dinette cushions in our 19 to add more foam and for vinyl covering. The cloth covers don't do will with dirty paws.

Moving Blankets
We've found that moving blankets, available in two sizes from Harbor Freight, make excellent re-configurable dog beds or extra padding for the back seat area of the truck when the seats are folded up. Could also be used to protect bedding on the people bed, if the dogs are allowed there. The blankets are inexpensive to begin with, and when they go on sale downright cheap.
