Escape 15A Windows
I would like to replace my rear window with one that opens. Does anyone have a part number, or size for this. Have any of you had the rear window replaced? Any recommendations?
Thanks, Kim
Happy Holidays!

I don't think Hehr makes one. It's a very specific size. You could always call Escape and ask if they know of one.

My understanding is that the reason Escape does not install an opening rear window is that it cannot be sealed sufficiently to prevent dust or rain from being sucked into the trailer by the vacuum at the rear of the trailer when under way.

Yes, I am very surprised that they have opening windows back there.

I had an opening rear window on my Uhaul, without any issues. Rease put one in an older Escape and has had issues with it. Doesn't make any sense to me that it works for some Escapes and not others.

The new ones do open (awning style) but I think the difference may be the frameless design. Perhaps the sliders were more susceptible to leaking when underway? No idea. Or perhaps Hehr didn't make a slider of that size.

My front window is a slider, but they stopped making it with the rock guard so Escape stopped installing them.

That's right, I remember now. The older model's rock guard sat on top rather than being recessed. That window is probably of similar size to the back window on the 15.

This is the response I received from Reace a few months back after I inquired about replacing the rear window in my 2015 17B with an opening window:
"Installing a sliding window in the rear of the trailer will only lead to leaks in a short period as the window drain track will quickly plug up from road wash. The frameless windows are only available on the 2017 models as we had to make changes to the trailer design and fiberglass layup to accommodate them.
The only option would be to install an awning style window in the same style as your windows. There are a few different varieties, however none of these would be available in a thermal window. We would not be able to provide one of these windows, you will need to contact Hehr directly."

I don’t know if athe size is right but looking at trailers I love the windows in the T@B trailers. The window is hinged on the top with gas shocks. The window casing has a screen and shade built in. I love looking out the window with no upright and screen in my view. Also twice the air flow when open as standard windows. I’d also like to have the skylight window from the T@B 400 over the bed in the 5.0ta.
