Escape 19 Cot

Just wondering if there are any owners that cold share some photos of their cot. Really cool if there were people in the cot and bed below so as to get a sense of how practical it is. I have two teen Boys and want to see how practical this cot system is for boys that are nearly full grown. Would appreciate anyone who has this and uses this feature to provide any commentary. Is the cot system better than the two boys sharing the dinette bed?

We have a deposit down for a unit and want to decide if this is a good option.

Thank you in advance.

I would get the cot even if you don’t end up using it. Can’t add after the build...at least not easily. The brackets are pretty low profile and you don’t even realize they are there.
Here are two threads with pictures. Depending on his size the 14 year old may be ok in the cot for a few more years. I believe it is rated for max 200#.

We have a new 19. My boys are both 6'. I don't see any scenario where anyone over 10 years of age can sleep on the cot with the bulkhead cabinets there. There is very little height, maybe only 22" per bunk. My second son either sleeps in the truck bed which has a Leer cap or sets up the tent weather depending. In a pinch, one can sleep on the floor, lots of room with legs under the bed table.

We bought our last Escape, a 2007 17B as an upgrade from the 1977 Trillium 4500. The Trillium had bunks and the kids were around 10 years old. It worked great because the bulkhead cabinets were removed. We bought the 17B expecting to build bunks but it didn't work out.

Here is my link, I used fabric from a military cot and fabricated a steel frame. Nothing touches the fiberglass. This was only a trial, I abandon the idea of the bunks.
