Escape 19 under bed storage

I know this has been discussed many times but some of the threads were pretty old; so rather than add to an old one I started a new one.

Here are pictures of a simple slide out tray I built that holds two storage containers. I built two of them and they easily fit side by side. There are no tracks or slides, it just slides on the flooring. Make sure any screws on the bottom are recessed into the plywood. You can do this without countersinking with a power drill. I do plan to add some stick-on nylon sliders to make is slide a little better.

The slider is a 1'x3' 1/4" plywood panel with 1x2 borders. The containers I found just fit.

Thanks so much for posting this, Bob & Katie. We were just sitting in our Escape, discussing how to better optimize our storage, and we like your idea a lot.

I use similar containers but just laid 2 pieces, 4x4x1/4 thin luan plywood, which allows smooth sliding, under the bed area, also some led lights down there are helpful.

Very nice, Bob. It would be very easy as well to add a set of floor mount drawer slides to your 1x3 trays. Definitely am thinking of building two similar trays like you've done.
