Escape 19 Wet Bath Floor

Like others, we experience a cracking/snapping sound when we (mostly me) step into the wet bath of our 19. We decided to put something over it to spread the load and make it more comfortable.

My wife ordered a Bamboo Bath Mat from Walmart and it fits perfectly. I haven't showered on it yet but will be taking another trip soon. I'll gif a report when we get back.

I thought of that and may still have to do it. The write up says it has 4 feet but it actually has 9. 3 on each end and 3 across the middle.

As soon as you step on it you will feel the need for extras, plus the new ones were a little different sized, so I added some and replaced all of the originals so that they matched...

Ok, you convinced me. I ordered a 20 pack of the feet without the screws and screw driver. I'll go to home Depot and get some stainless screws.

I'm a pretty big boy so I'll put a lot of feet on there to distribute the load.

Do not forget the stainless washers that fit inside the plastic foot head, helps to distribute the weight off the plastic to the platform, I just bought the set complete, screws, washers and plastic feet....it works....good luck and report back.

Is it possible to spray in some expanding foam under the floor to assist with support in addition to the bamboo platform?

No, and I wouldn't do it anyway as spray foam crushes and turns to dust when weight is applied.

The wooden bath mat works perfectly in spreading out any weight....

I now have 19 feet on the bottom of our Bamboo shower matt. I stood on it and moved around no snapping or cracking. I do feel the slats sag slightly.

We use ours a bit differently. We keep our wood matt it in the shower, until we actually shower. When we step back into the shower area, we have a dry matt to step onto. Works for us, but not for all...

I can see that. The only reason that we put the wood mat in was to distribute the load. When you get in a fiberglass shower or anything, and you hear it snapping and cracking, it won't be long before you start seeing the crack...then water starts getting in that crack and before long, it's not a good situation. So far, in my limited testing, this appears to have resolved the issue.

Hello. Quick question. It looks like the mat the OP purchased is 24x18. How did this fit in the 19 bathroom? Based on the attached dimensions I'm not sure how it fit. Thanks

Some mats may have to be cut, depending upon the size purchased. My first Escape I used 2 mats and had a piece left over which I was able to use later in another Escape.

@Kingbuscuit noted it fit perfectly and since it looks like it has some tongue and groove work I was thinking that this one fit right out of the box.

Never noticed any bath floor snapping or cracking. I bought a package of this at Home Depot 5 years ago. Cut to fit, the original piece still works just fine preventing slippage and as a cushion.

I don't remember the measurements. But, yes, the one I bought and posted the link to, fit perfectly in a 19. By perfectly, I mean the space directly in front of the commode (which is actually towards the rear of the trailer). However, it leaves a "sump" area where the drain is. When we're not using the shower, we have a trash can sitting in that area and the raised floor helps keep that in place.
