Thank you one and all for your suggestions. As the title to this thread stated, I need to focus. Right now I need to get going on the front storage box project. This table talk was a tangent I didn't see coming, but it came. My 19'er is a side-to-side slider and I don't have the wrap around version. Seats 4, and that's OK with me. I'll spring for a Springfield in the future when I feel the need, which may not be too far off.
I appreciate all the input.

I have been using the Springfield pedestal and Dicor 3-way slide for 3 years now, and we love it.
As mentioned, tightening the clamps on the pedestal virtually stops any wobble. Shortly after getting it, I had to tighten a fair bit, and then once again a year or so ago, and it now seems to have solidified quite good having been now broken in to where it is set.
The Dicor slide works great. Easy movement front or back, or side to side. At first I thought the slide locks could have been better placed, but now used to them, find them easy to operate.
One nice plus is that we often turn our table 90° and move it rearward a bit. This works way better for sitting on the quite wide seats with your butt to the rear and having the table at a nice usable distance from you. It even works for 4 sitting and eating too.
Plus, this system works great for converting into a bed for guest use or even our lounging. Takes about 30 seconds tops to get it lowered into place. Add another 30 seconds or so to arrange the cushions, this takes more time than lowering the table.

Jim- the slide that Dicor imported from Italy is 4 way. I prefer to call it Simply- that is what the Italian Mfg. calls it on their website. They manufacture for the RV industry and have some pretty cool stuff.
Table Accessories | Categorie Prodotti | St.La Pro
Would be nice if Escape started offering St.LA products.

Yes, I made a booboo. Dicor did offer an array of their tables products, and I had considered others. Good stuff that would sell well over here, for sure.

Who makes a good table slide ? One that is well engineered , well built . operates smoothly and is stable .
The existing table slide in our 2018 -21 ( Brand Unknown) seem cheap , flimsy , poorly designed, a Rube Goldberg pile of bent sheet metal
Cost is not the object , functionality is !

Isn't that a plastic slide? Our first one broke on the 2010 17B and knew we did not want it again for the 21 even though we went with a smaller table on the U-dinette.

I'll be picking my 21' up in a couple of months and may do something similar. But I may modify it to use the stock metal posts when the table is inside and rig a couple 2" posts mounted on top of a base like you made for outside use (or whatever length is necessary to get a counter-height tabletop.

Hope you don’t scrap your leg or ply removing the posts . One of the many reasons we changed to better Springfield . Pat

Love me some Harbor Freight and I really like your table!
Hopefully you scored a 20% or 25% discount on the sawhorse with one of the many Harbor Freight online, catalog or flyer coupons. If not, visit the Harbor Freight Tools Coupon Database at hfqpdb.com for your future shopping. Harbor Freight associates will scan coupons on one's smartphone.

We Love Our Lagun
The Lagun is very versatile, rotates, is sturdy and no post on the floor. It is probably our #1 mod.
I did add an Aluminum Plate to the bottom of the table due to the small area that the Lagun mounts to the table and the soft wood that the table is made of. The first time I leaned on the table it pulled the screws from the table.
I first tried a piece of ½ plywood, which did work but it was way to heavy. The aluminum plate works great and has withstood my occasion leaning on it. You may not see the screws in the plate, but I have screws through out the aluminum plates perimeter.
Side note, what a job it was getting the pictures right side up!!! I almost gave up on this post. Hopefully I either take them correctly the next time or remember how I got them this time.

I've looked at the Lagun (on-line) but it appears it would present issues for me. I want to maintain the stock table top size to convert for bed use. Your table visually appears smaller. You also have a structure with the U-shaped dinette area for attachment. My 19' rig has no U-shape seating cabinet structure to mount to, only, I assume, the front interior wall of the trailer. I also have a valence at the floor, covering, I assume, electrical wiring.
One can do almost anything in this world....ya' just have to consider difficulty, cost and the time required. I'd love to use some aircraft honeycomb composite materials for a table top.......super-duper lightweight, stiff, durable and hyper-expensive. I've got some samples of that flat sheet stuff, and it is remarkable stuff. Maybe.....someday...if my need is there.
Thanks for your input and efforts in getting the pictures...and in their proper orientation. I appreciate it.

I find with picture posting to first put them on the desktop and then take each one and rotate them to the correct position, even if they are already in the correct position. Then it seems to work.

That wood piece at floor level between the dinette benches does hide some wiring. When I moved our batteries inside from the tongue to the passengers side dinette bench I used that pathway to cross the trailer with my main wiring.

Thanks for the input Jim.
Maybe putting them on the desk top makes a difference, if I need to do it again I will try that. One of the pictures was taken with my old camera and presented no problem, but the other four were a pain.
I turned them, saved them, attached them and waited to see the failed results.
I finally got results by (I think this is what I did) turning them 360 and then copying them. I think the results was from copying them and maybe the turning 360 was in vain.

Here is a link below to the “Cheapfield” table leg for the frugal at heart. Use one for a small table or two for the full size. It is as sturdy as you can mount it to the floor and table.

Based on our experience with the Springfield table mount if the Springfield is a vast cost effective improvement over the factory table mount , then the factory table mount must

Not following your complaining on the Springfield at all, Steve. I find that it works great once adjusted, and offers lots of flexibility. WAY more stable than the stock one I used in the 19 for many years

I am not complaining but considering the cost and functionality of my Springfield table mount
all I can say is , “I am not impressed.”
It seems rather over priced considering what it accomplishes
It’s basically a glorified table leg IMHO

Eggscape,
Thank you for your input and clever "McGyver" table support solutions. I will ponder this approach...............but I need to return to my original project of a front storage box. I did buy today some 1/2" MDO plywood for the base, 1/2" marine plywood for some internal frames and some `1/2" foam board....I may experiment with some vacuum bagging techniques of fiberglass cloth, epoxy and a shaped foam piece to make a surface stiffener. I've got a vacuum pump from some auto AC repairs....gonna give it a try.
It appears as if you've tricked your rig out. What will we do when we're done with the mods? Maybe.....just maybe....time to hit the road.
bon voyage

The answer for some of us is pretty obvious. Buy another Escape so you can do more mods.
