I am waiting for Escape to come out with a special edition , Jim Norman model trailer
It will come standard with every conceivable option and though it will be beyond my price range , it will give me something to dream about in my old age .

We need to get you dreaming about other things than my trailers. But if you ever need help on a build sheet, I'd try to help you. BTW, I have never had the inverter, nor the ac water heater, microwave, and have stopped with the tv antennas so I'm weaning my way off the options.

Funny how that goes. I've noticed the same thing. Once you've used one for awhile you do notice that there are some things that just don't get used. For us it was the inverter and microwave.

Round table option

We created a table option for our 19 Ft. Escape - with a 36" round table top from Lowe's.
We never took down the table to set up a bed in the front of the trailer, so it was a good option for us - less work than sliding the rectangular table back and forth. The table is supported with two IKEA table legs and the stock post in the center. I have attached two pictures, but can't show the table in place, since we sold the 19' and downsized to a 15A.

We found the table easier to get around to sit, especially on the driver's-side of the table. We always left it in place and it rode well.

Happy modding in the new year,

David Anderson

The great thing about the Lagun table mount.....it can be installed on the bench on either side! Yes some beefing up is necessary ( plywood on floor inside bench compartment and Inside the front of bench to stabilize two brackets to stabilize the front of the bench) sounds more complicated than it is. Absolutely love our Lagun.. put one in our scamp13 when I converted the sofa to a full time dinette and now our Escape 17b has one in the front dinette. We have the back as a full time bed.

Doesn't it interfere with the person sitting on that side of the dinette?

Do you mount it as close to the front as you can?

Greetings from Massachusetts.
1. Not handy
2. 2019 17B. Rear table is in permanent bed mode. ( not a fan of standard escape legs.)

3. We(2) only use the front 2 person table for meals. ( still disliking the clunky standard legs). Had hoped to use a laguna on our two person table. Reading some critics of this marine base, is that criticism for the 4 person table or both? Look forward to your opinions.

Any thoughts are so appreciated. I am the mobile member of our family and Not handy.
I would need to locate an installer. ☹️

2. Has anyone enlarged the exterior rear passenger Hatch, for easier ,access to the spacious under bench seat box.
Because the bed is always in place it is difficult to access from interior.

Currently we have loose plastic ‘milk crates’ floating around under the bed. Not a good solution for us.
I have seen photos of owner modes of drawers or milk boxes.

Is there any one creating a kit for any of these modes? If everything is cut and measure, I think I could screw drawer supports to floor. 🤪 have $$

We are in Ma. Very few escape TT thus few supporting mechanics.

I love reading you alls exquisite ideas.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Willing to drive a distance to have some of your modes installed.$$

17B Spero is loved!
Drove cross country to pick her up and would do it again.

Jill,
If you get a chance to attend a rally you can see first hand some of the modifications. There is one in September in Niagara Falls, Canadian side and the big one in May in Osoyoos, BC where there were 180+ Escapes this year.

Jaye...have I got a project for you.

Since you have the milk crates and you say you can screw a rail (or maybe even a wood strip?) to the floor...all you need is some tie straps and you are on your way to some great drawers.

Unfortunately my Bin project was poorly written up so you will have to check a few posts.

Here is a link to the main post on the subject where you will get the general overview.

http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f8...tml#post286336

Other info can be found in post numbers 14, 52 and 177

Good luck with your project.

You specify the dimensions, I make the drawers and mounts. This pic is a set of two with removable dividers for pull-out storage in a 19 seat next to the entry door.

I couldn't stand the POS OEM table "slide" and "support" pedestal on our 15A and since we only need back/forth sliding to allow easier enter/exit to the seats I decided to fabricate my own system.

SS tailpipe serves as the vertical column, 1/8" thick SS plate for the base floor mount and top. And 80/20 sliding bearing assembly for the slide/lock feature.

The 80/20 t-slot is a little too long/wide but after our little trip to the coast I'll cut it down about 6" and all will be great!

And since we don't need to lower it into a bed...we could make it wobble free: It's SOLID!

Solid, son. Smart adaption. And I went to the Springfield side, buying a used unit from a forum fellow. And now I'm messing about with trying to replace the plastic glides with some ball bearing drawer glides.
Anybody have a link for to do so?
It's Winter here, still, so I'm keeping occupied with Escape projects to get me through.
Recall any references to DYI. Dicor type set-up? Please post.

P.S. What is the 80/20 slider you used?

I used a chunk of wood and a 5 lb. hammer to install the post and table. Worked for me.

Instead of ball bearing type, I used solid wooden slides - just used a bit of soap for lube as in old furniture. https://www.rockler.com/classic-wood...r-slide-4-pack
