Folks that use trailers for long periods of sub zero weather always retrofit trailers with skirts and a low level heat source like a 100w bulb underneath. My wife sleeps near the outside wall in our 17B. We slip a z rest pad down beside the mattress that helps. Also have covered all the metal window frames with closed cell foam to eliminate condensation via this terrible thermal bridge with the outside temps

I didn't know what a "z rest pad" was so I googled it. Do you mean a "Therm-A-Rest Z Pad"?

Our new 21C has a 1/2” thick high density black rubber foam applied on the walls including walls under the bed area up to settee, bed framing height. I am not referring to the finished foam vinyl liner. On the floor in the galley area we put a large rug runner (33”x 72”) over a thick yoga mat.
So far, it’s working well.

Hi - I am preparing my build sheet, and am wondering about getting the factory option for spray foam insulation with heat strips, vs. installing hard board insulation under the trailer and tanks. Do you have photos of how you installed the 2" foam boards under your 21? I would be very interested in any photos and your thoughts on do it yourself insulation vs. getting the factory option. Thanks.
I do not recommend the heat strips but do recommend the insulation. The strips are high draw 12v and require hook ups to maintain....your on board furnace will keep you warm and the spray foam will protect your tanks.
