I bought an aluminum, fold-up cargo carrier from Menard’s when I was in Superior, WI (Menard’s is not in FL). I’m not sure they still carry it but I wanted something I wouldn’t have to paint if it were to get rusty. I do not often use it to carry cargo; it is usually in the folded position. But I carry my grill in a tote in the back seat and when I set up, I wanted a place to store empty totes and my cooler off the ground to keep them from getting muddy in the event of inclement weather. It has served that purpose well. And I like that when folded up, it doesn’t stick out. It only comes off the trailer if I am camping in Florida during the winter months if I want to take bicycles. I am not one to take bicycles in cross country trips.

I used a StowAway 2 Cargo Box with my Escape 17B. I have enough storage in the 21 to exceed the GVWR of the trailer, so no need to add one.

Harbor Freight Cargo Carrier that I used on my recent 600 mile round trip. So far no complaints; but then, I've only used it once. I'm guessing there's about 60 lbs of stuff on the carrier in this picture. I had a super coupon and was able to pick it up for $40.

I have the problem with my cargo rack having a not very solid fit. Bit of play there and a slight list to starboard.

Had decided to look for something to shim it with. Had not thought of a hitch tightener at all.

Should have known to come here first. Ain't nothing happening that someone has not already seen.

I ordered one of the devices you provided the link too. Thanks!

Hitch tightener will probably be better, but I bought metal shims that are used to fix the handle to an axe head. Pounded them in, several years ago, an they are still there.

I got a hitch tightener and it would not work with my cargo rack.

Perhaps a hitch lock and tightener https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hit...e/SR25219.html

AZ Jack put some curvy beads of weld on the sides of the Pro Tow WDH stinger for a tighter fit when he owned the 19 we bought from him. They were a pretty low clearance fit on my Curt Receiver on the the 2012 Highlander I had at the time. They worked great to reduce chatter and thumping as we towed the 19 for four years. It’s a very inexpensive solution if you have access to a welder and surface grinder to get a nice tight fit. Just an alternative for some folks out there.

Best buy a Sherline tongue scale if you plan to put much in it.

I solved my hitch wobble problem. I used Tap and Die set to make threaded holes in the bottom and left side of the receiver about 1 in from the end and installed set screws. Tightened them with red stuff applied and No more wobble!

No weight in the basket now so will have to wait until next trip to see if all is well. I'm betting it will be. Very few threads in that hole.
