Lagun table sytem
Hello everyone, we want to install a Lagun table leg in our 2017 21Escape and I’m hoping to get some ideas of how others have installed/supported this system. We have a U-shape dinette with the electrical panel on the drivers side, back wall of the “u”; we want to put the table leg just to left of this panel. My guess is that this topic has been discussed before though I can’t locate the thread. Any suggestions about how to support the Lagun would be greatly appreciated. Photos would be a HUGE help too. Thanks so much.

If you go to the Forum search tab and use the lower google search and just put in lagun table you will get lots of posts. There are a few with pictures of how to support the table system. I am doing the same thing shortly to our Escape.

Lagun Install
There are several threads with good photos and descriptions of the Lagun table installation in various Escapes. You should be able to find them with a couple of searches. Here's one:
https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f...hts-12137.html
Not too difficult. Good luck!

Vinyl Flooring Patch
I really enjoyed reviewing this thread. Thanks to all. I am ready to order a Lagun. The one thing my wife is concerned about is how to best patch in the holes in the flooring. Photos of retrofits don't show any sign of a patch. I've searched for the answer without luck. What is your secret

Hi Randy,
In our case we had the standard original table with two legs. The base for each leg was screwed to the floor with 5-6 #8 or # 10 screws. The vinyl flooring was intact under each leg base. I just put a dab of caulk on each screw hole and pressed in with a finger. Blends right in and we never even notice it.
Good luck. We love the Lagun table.

Take tweezers and gently pull the loose material around the holes, the add a drop or 2 of super glue, then quickly place a piece of clear tape over the area. then with a small ball n ping hammer tap the area where the hole is. Wait a few minutes then slowly remove the tape then clean the area with a clean cloth with a drop or 2 of lighter fluid. This is how we patched the floors on mobile homes I built them for ten yrs.

Yeah, but the holes are going to be too big. They're like lag screws the size of your pinky finger and need to be filled. A drop or 2 of super glue isn't going to do it.

Well we’ll just have to agree to disagree on this Donna. We fixed good size tears n holes on those mobile homes that happened during their production. I fixed the holes on our 21 the same way. N when you remove the screws, the holes tend to close up. And when tapping with a hammer they will just about disappear. This method work well while I was building mobile homes n work well for me. If someone has a simple more permanent fix other that putting chalk on top of the hole I’m all eyes n ears

Donna,
They weren't on mine. As I said, they were #8 or #10 screws. I can't vouch for Rockhead's method, but the holes left by removal of my leg bases were not too big to use that approach.
Randy, maybe take a screw out of your table base and see what size it is. Or even remove a base completely and see what you will be dealing with. Then proceed accordingly.

I know that when you remove a screw from wood and vinyl there is usually a pucker. Hammering this down will help but usually leaves a gap. I have access to some flooring edging under the settee and could try plucking some top color and gluing it place. Worth a try. I wasn't sure that caulk (bath or otherwise) would match or stay in place.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Randy

So far this has been working out, the different tiers help.
I like the space more than the tabletop area.

Follow up on Screw Holes
When I remove the table feet I found the holes in the vinyl to be cleared out, probably with a 1/4" drill, so my only option was to fill the holes with an almond colored caulk. Since some of the stock flooring was darker than the caulk, I may end up touching up with some paint when it is fully cured. Or maybe we'll find a rug that matches to cover it. Or maybe we won't worry about it since the table will cover it most of the time.
Loving the Lagun and the new foot space! Now to get out and use our E19LM (Lagun Model).

Upon retrospect, there may be some concern over covering the little step with a rug, some may miss there is a step there and fumble a bit....just being cautious.....
