Was just looking at Wayfair and that sink is on sale in the black for $152, 42% off, were you able to get it on sale as well? Sounds worth buying on spec even if we don't order the new Escape. It looks great in your build pics especially since you have the stove/oven combo and black range hood to match.

I notice you need to change your trailer from 5.0TA on order to 5.0TA Nov 2017.

Hi Adrian,
Nope, we did not get it on sale - too bad. I do like how it matches the oven in color. I debated on getting a lighter one but thought over time it might stain.

Is it a flat-bottomed sink? I dislike the ones with 'dished' bottoms, as things won't stand up in them straight...also I heard from ETI that 7" depth was my limit, but the Houzer is 8" deep?

The Houzer is 9.5" deep with a flat bottom: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Not sure about a 7" maximum, lots of people have used the Houzer sink in various trailer models - maybe 7" is the depth of the standard stainless sink.

I asked and was told 16x16x7 max, so I asked why others could have the Houzer installed - I'll be speaking with Samuel tomorrow so will clarify it with him then. Thanks!

David, does the deeper sink limit space in the cabinet below much?

Well, it does take up more space - but since the drain sticks down below the sink anyway, and the flexible hose for the faucet, there's not a ton of room there anyway. Still plenty of room for us to store our frying pans and cutting boards. I don't have easy access to the trailer, it's off at a storage yard, or I'd get a pic for you.

Thanks...but after a check just now on the Canadian Amazon site, it appears I couldn't get it to ETI in time, so maybe it'll be a project for me later. Besides, I'd save $200+ if I buy it here!

Did you replace the sink trap with a Hepvo when you replaced you sink?

I have installed several Houzer sinks but the Hepvo replaced the sink trap to gain space under the sink in all of them. Without the Hepvo mod, it would have been very tight getting the Houzer sink in there.

No, we had our Houzer sink installed by ETI during production with the standard drain.

After searching a bunch of sites without finding the white Houzer in stock, Build.com had 10, and priced at $228 complete, shipped to Chilliwack from Calif. Seemed like a fair price considering Walmart and Amazon would have cost $300+, and would be available in 6- 8 weeks.

Dis you have to send them the drain/trap too? I wasn't sure, don't know the size of the stock sink trap, but 3 1/2" is standard size so i can always get one to them quickly.

Yes, you must send ETI those parts. While 3-1/2" is standard, ETI installs 'bar sinks' which are not 3-1/2"

Here is the Houzer strainer - it's nice, very high quality - although probably any standard 3.5" drain and basket strainer would work.

Question

Just curious - since the popular Houzer sink (and many other replacement sinks) is square with the drain offset to the 'rear', has anyone installed this unit rotated CCW 90 degrees so the drain is offset to the left side?

With or without Hepvo it seems that would open-up a bit more usable space in the cabinet below with the drain running to the riser in front left corner of the cabinet?

Or am I missing something (other than a preference for symmetry over function)?

Interesting! Yes, that could be done - just never thought about it. Keep in mind, you're not going to gain much extra room doing it that way and for most people, they are used to seeing the drain at the back so it may seem odd to them.
