Mudflaps

Thoughts on needing mudflaps on an Escape trailer since it’s all fiberglass?

Aren’t mud flaps standard?

Would be interesting to learn when the mud flaps became standard. Our '09 19 came to live with us in 2019 without mud flaps. The original documentation came along too, along with sales brochures. No mud flaps listed in the sales materials, nor as an available option. ETI photos don't show mud flaps either.

The sales brochure photo also shows no drop down trim between the wheels (in the wheel wells), though our unit has a set bolted on--and by experience I already know they are excellent mud and snow catchers! The molded ones on the newer trailers are much better. I presume these were standard equipment, as they are not listed on the option list for our trailer.

If the mud flaps are available, I think I'll try to get a set from ETI.

As an aside, I was interested to note the the original owners ordered the trailer in mid-January, and picked it up in late June. Business must have been a little less hectic then.

George: Based on photos of older Escapes the mud flaps show up consistently starting with the 2012 model year.

Mine 19 was the sixth one off the line in 2009 and it never had mud flaps either. After over 6 years with the trailer it never really showed any damage. Not sure when the first ones started being installed as standard though. They are on my 5.0TA.

We did not have mud flaps on the 2010. It was not nearly as easy to clean under the wheel wells as it is with the 21 that is fully molded.
There have been several iterations of production availability including discounts for late in the year purchases,(to keep the guys and ladies working,) speculative builds, last of models (When 15 production ended), introductory discounts etc.
Mudflaps matter.
