Outside Patio Light

Has anyone switched their outside patio light to one of these "Smart" motion lights?

Was the old light easy to remove or was it riveted in place?

For us, it is a rare occasion to turn the outside light on at all, as we find it quite distracting when hanging around outside. We prefer the firelight alone. But, I imagine it could always just be turned off. Is it able to be just a switched light, or is it motion only?

the exterior lights are on a switch thus this can be manual or motion activated.

We did on our previous trailer...a Scamp 5er. It wasn't too hard....caulk and screws. Don't know about the one on the Escape.

I camped next to a trailer that had a motion detector porch light in a park that had sites parallel to the service road. A real pain in that it came on every time anyone walked by. I added a "3 way" switch to mine so I can turn it off or on both at the fixture or inside the trailer.

The SmartLight we put on the Scamp allowed you to run it on motion or turn it totally off or on (no motion activation). We found we didn't use the motion aspect very much at all so we probably won't try to put one on our Escape.

Our outside entrance fixture emits a yellow-orange colored light that is not too bright. But I found that it is useful in helping me find my way home when returning to the trailer in the dark after using the campground facilities. Not sure that I would want to have a motion sensitive light though.

I shipped mine to Reese and he put it on during the build. Works well.
