I really hope it helps too. I did also order the larger fan. It came today as well. Lots to do and we travel soon for a 6 week trip. A/C needs work, heater needs work, axel bolts need checking, and I’m sure there is other stuff.

The problem is that the fridge cabinet tapers toward the back, more so as you move up in the cabinet. It is more than a 1/2” narrower as it moves toward the back. So now, I’ll have to leave even less insulation than I’ve already got. One side only has at most a 1/2” for part of the wall.

So the fridge cabinet is not square in any direction I ended up wit 3/4” to 1/2” insulation on one side, and 1/2” to Reflectix on the other. The back starts at 1 1/2”, goes to 1”, then to 3/4”, to 1/2” and finally to Reflectix. It’’s the best I could do for a fit. There might be room for Reflectix in a few places, but I didn’t want to test fit a bunch of times given my schedule. Above the fridge, I got 3-5” depending on the roofline. I hope my fridge has more stable temps now.

It’s colder today, but the fridge and freezer cooled quickly on propane today. Sailboat is hauled and put to bed for the winter. Coleman A/C started vibrating. Popped the top. Loose screws and vibration mounts. Dirt dobber’s nest on fan. One bolt missing from a mount. Cleaned, tightened, replaced bolt, and now it fun’s vibration free again.

Working on furnace sort of…. Once again, here at home in the sunshine with A/C unplugged and the fridge and furnace on propane. Runs fine. It won’t act up until we have a brisk north wind with 30 degrees F with a sleeting rain at 2 AM.

Nothing to solve on the furnace right now. It’s running well. While working on the fridge I installed a larger fan to try to get more consistent temperatures. In front is the battery powered fan we have been using. Attached to the fins is the new 12VDC fan I just installed.

Nice fan, give us a full report. I discovered an interesting flaw in our while camping this weekend. Woke up to fridge off! Power button in of position, hmmm,? Apparently when climbing out of bed in the dark early morning hours it is really easy to accidentally bump the power switch with your hand

Fan, with all 3 running as opposed to just 1, seems to make the fridge a couple of degrees cooler.

My axel bolts are tight. The Ranger got new tires and I just finished an oil change. Padawan’s journey 3 is coming soon. We haven’t been gone for more than a week since May.

Fixed catch on door under kitchen sink, and installed hinge support plates on the fridge doors.
You can buy or make hinge supports. I did the top and bottom of both doors after previously glueing the top freezer hinge with some kind of Locktite primer and super glue for plastics. We do put heavy stuff in the doors, so I figured hinge plates all around was a good idea.

here’s the forum thread where I saw this:

Have a small portable ice maker we carry when it’s hot and we have electricity. It would not come out of the PS dinette bench storage without moving a bunch of stuff. So I’m rebuilding the bench access hinged plywood cover to work better for us. I need some 1x4 before I can finish. The supports are not full length just like the bed. I will change that since I cut the plywood. Here’s a couple of starting pictures.

Will also buy 5” duct and replace the heater flex duct and use shorter sheet metal screws to get better airflow. I’ll buy lumber and duct Wednesday afternoon.
