As you say it should not be a problem if the stuff inside the trailer is not tight but still worth doing a brake check in case it was a bad day in the shop.
Morning Ed ! You did a mod adding a light over your dinette . That shelf over dinette , do you know if it has a false bottom ,I can pull up to put some speakers wires in ? Pat

Pat the bottom of the shelf is hollow and you could thread wires through if you knew how it was built. I think there might be cross supports in the way hampering an easy thread of wire.

Keep in mind of course that wire can be run up behind the corner pad...then easily pushed up between the shelf and padded wall...then once you make it to the valance you’re home free to drill a hole into the hollow of the shelf in front of the blind.

Ed I took a couple of pictures to show what I want to do . I am installing a radio in trailer . It will go in the corner . Under the shelf over the dinette want to install right and left surface mount speakers . The radio will be in corner driver side of dinette . I want to hide the wire if I can in false bottom of shelf . Yes will drill into bottom shelf to hang speaker brackets . Previously had a couple of battery meters and ran wire from battery . It goes down under that vinyl corner I was able to use but thinking I want the radio to completely be shut off . Later about that . If I have to can run speaker wires inside of shelf to protect them add tape on top . Any help is appreciated Ed . Pat

Since you have a light there, why not use that source for your radio? Install an inline power switch.

I'd start over with Bluetooth radio and speakers. No wires.

You could mount the radio under the side cupboard next to the corner cover strip.
You could mount the speakers on either side of the valance facing towards the rear of the trailer Or straight above that on the side of the cabinet. Either way I would not put the cross wire into the shelf but rather just trap it like I indicated.

Have you listened to the radio? Some have a hum...not saying yours does, but it is worth a check. If the speaker is right by your ear this hum could be very unpleasant.

Either way having the one speaker so close to your head means you are only going to hear that channel...being right or left.

You may want to put the speakers under the table mounted on the side of the benches backed against the front wall and facing the rear of the trailer. You will get indirect sound and a better chance to hear both the left and right channels. For me this location would be less likely to give me a headache and it might not disturb the clean look of the trailer.

Yup going to install radio in the corner your picture ,SP. I can’t install the speakers down
below because the 3 fur babies . They like to get under table . Have had to make protection for surge they keep shutting off etc. best to place speakers under shelf for our situation . The speakers can swivel up or down or turned . Yes already hooked up just to check and the sound isn’t bad at all . It is a Furrion and it wasn’t expensive but is supposed to be vibration and moisture protected . Reason I want to make a clean nice looking install hiding those wires very important . I also got a amplified antenna maybe why sound is pretty good with limitations of not expensive speakers . I can still add a woofer too . But so far this is not bad . There is a fader control too on this radio .
So far just placed on table and tried the sound out . Got to decide if I hook into either light , driver side or under dinette for 12 volt .... radio off with battery switch or on directly hooked to battery . I am taking my time . But I need all the suggestions I can get and really appreciate the help ! Pat

looks like you had to mount the speakers on something first to raise them up?

Hi Jim yes I made pine blocks to screw speakers to . Decided to not install speakers under shelf after all. The wood blocks screw into Escape 1in block inside shelf . I did have to make a in hole from radio to inside shelf for speaker wire . Wire is just covered with slip stop material to help protect and keeps the containers from sliding . Pat
