Re: Planned modifications for my 19'

I installed some bug screens on the furnace, lower refer vent, and the water heater. These are common places where pesty insects will build some sort of nest and cause issues. Just used some scrap wire fine screen I had excess.

Re: Planned modifications for my 19'

Added some led's today, one a red night light that will stay on at night, built in the bath room light, unswitched at present, may add a switch later. Another is a stairwell/step light for those night time excursions, on a switch next to 12v outlet.

Hi,
Just wondering where did you get the raine gutters? Did you make them?

Re: Planned modifications for my 19'

I keep getting email flyers from Camping World.
I've yet to see any "special offer" that I couldn't get cheaper locally.
Of course, they have a wide selection, but it makes me wonder about their pricing.

Interesting, just as the kitchen area of an RV is called a 'galley' like a boat, the gutter over the window is called an 'eyebrow', the same as it is called over a porthole of a ship!

Regardless, it looks like a good idea!

Cheers,
Glenn

Re: Planned modifications for my 19'

Decided to "Pimp" my Escape 19 with more night time red led lights that are installed now with a tiny toggle switch wired into each light, operate independent of the light and at night adds some ambiance and seeing ability. With the ability to turn off if needed. Also added an outside step light and switched the interior step to a red one.

Next up, to make just the buttons on the bed area lights glow at night without keeping one awake.

Re: Planned modifications for my 19'

You should point out that you aren't opening a trailer of ill repute, just that red protects night vision.

Re: Planned modifications for my 19'

Yes, that is correct, white light at night creates temporary blindness. Speaking of which, I had to replace the factory LED in the bath, it was too bright, with a smaller, dimmer version. Otherwise when I tried to go back to sleep all I could see was 24 moons when I shut my eyes

Re: Planned modifications for my 19'

Building a better mouse trap-
for those Escape 19' owners who opted to have the electric outlet moved under the counter, over the double doors on the kitchen face, it is a lot more convenient, particularly for a coffee pot on top of the counter. However this creates a big hole in a little board and I noticed the board had some give/flex while opening and closing the cabinet doors. So I decided to add a brace, underneath utilizing a modified shelf bracket, modified to fit the space. Installed with 2 screws and the piece of cabinet around the outlet and over the cabinet doors is now rock solid, now attached to the countertop. Attached are photos from a test fit, it is now screwed all the way in.

Re: Planned modifications for my 19'

removed the refer top to inspect the wall thickness next to closet for nail sizes. Found this huge cold air hole between the refer and the trim top. Cover hole with some styrofoam and tape to eliminate winter drafts. Installed water heater "on" indicator light and closet lights
