Rain Gutter for the Furnace

The furnace on my new 21ne stopped working quite a few weeks ago. I’ve done a lot of troubleshooting and to no avail and am now awaiting Dometic’s escalation team to preapprove a place to get the furnace fixed because there are no certified Dometic shops in Alaska. So, in the meantime I installed a little rain gutter over the furnace access compartment. I have had water in the bottom from the tons of rain these past weeks. Not enough to have wires sitting in water, but too much. Hope this helps!

Is that a piece of metal or plastic? Did you attach it with double sided tape?

yes, it's a plastic roll with 3-M sticky tape on back. I believe the brand name is trim-lok and bought on amazon. 25-foot roll. it is bendable but not flexible enough to follow the curve of the furnace access door so i applied it straight. comes in black and white. the color white on this brand matces the trailer. some people use the black to do the slider windows.

No, it's EZE RV Gutter. It gets more flexible if heated, either laying out in the sun or use something like a hairdryer.

Trim-Loc is a U-shape channel used around the raw edges of fiberglass.

Make sure the surface is real clean. We used an anvil style pruning shears to cut ours straight.

The little rain gutter appears to be working! Went into the furnace access compartment today in one last ditch effort to get the furnace working (didn't work) and the compartment was dry. I could see where the little gutter had diverted the rain water. And Dometic today authorized the work to get the furnace fixed sometime after Labor Day.
